Ds 70

Hello. I purchased a 2011 ds 70 and wouldn’t start has been sitting for years. I changed the normals, carb clean, plug wire, and so on. But when I finally got it started and put it into “f” forward it took off like the throttle was stuck wide open. There’s no throttle response when it’s in neutral at all and no feeling in the thumb throttle. Thanks for any advice!

Key problem

Hi everyone new to the forum just bought my 2nd renegade Thai ones a 500 last one I had the dealership took 2500$ from me chasing down an issue causing limp mode never did fix it now I have a 09 500 and when I turn the key it requires lots of attempts at positioning and pushing on the key to get it to finally start, I took the switch apart and scraped the contacts and put dielectric grease on it put it back together and it gave me the p code saying bad dees ground so is the key switch and key the issue? Or could there be anything else to this?

Should I bring to dealer?

I have a 13 Outlander 1000 XT with roughly 1000 miles. I have never had at the dealer for anything. My question is am I missing any update to the computer that I should bring in for? Thanks?

Torq Locker

My Visco Lock starting grinding badly when ever I got stuck, so I decided to disable it completely and install a Torq Locker. The Torq Locker is a pretty cheap upgrade to do and it has been a lot better than I expected.

I have done a lot of riding since its been installed. Like all the rides I do, it has been a very varied type of terrain. I have used 4x4 when I needed it of course, but also used it a bunch just to test out how everything will work or has changed because of the Torq Locker.

Anytime situation I needed 4x4, the Torq Locker has performed incredibly well. I have been able to easily crawl out of some mud that I have either struggled with or needed to be pulled out of in the past. Having all 4 wheels always pulling makes a huge difference, especially when climbing out of ruts or getting hung up. Everytime I have had to winch lately has been because of ground clearance issues. I have also climbed some real tough, steep hills that had some small ledges you had to climb up over. While some of this was still a little nerve racking, just feeling all 4 wheels locked all the time made me feel a little more comfortable with it. Anytime you have to climb up and over or through anything the power is already there at all 4 wheels, no delays, or any slipping feeling. The power was already there and working. In the past I have had obstacles to get over where the first time trying it would fail and slip and there would be a small delay before the wheels locked. It has sometimes cause some scary situations. The Torq Locker eliminates this.

I wanted to test the handling for trail riding with 4x4 engaged, so I tried it on an easy trail where I could hit upwards of 40 to 50 km an hour and on a more difficult trail where the average speed was more like 10 to 15 km and hour. If you have power steering then the Torq Locker does not affect the handling that negatively. On medium DPS setting, it felt like riding my atv that does not have power steering, in my opinion that is not bad at all. So from my testing, in my opinion, slower trail riding in 4x4 is perfectly fine, the easier trail I tried it on was not to bad but I would recommend not riding in 4x4 at higher speeds with the Torq Locker.

Steering in 2 wheel drive was not affected at all, I do get the small ratcheting noise while turning very sharply but it hasn't affected the feeling of the steering any.

There may be more to talk about but this is what was on my mind at the time I wrote this.

In conclusion, I would definitely recommend the Torq Locker for anyone who has a failing Visco Lock or if you do a ton of mud riding it is an upgrade I would have no problem recommending.
