was running way too lean...backfiring alot. Plug was white.

Carb has been thoroughly cleaned. Fuel Filter is new. New exhaust gaskets (to be sure I didnt have a leak with the backfiring) Carb Needle height is set to 2nd to last clip slot at bottom. Still has stock jets. The only way to get it not so lean is to turn the air mixture screw all the way in - and I mean all the way until it bottoms out. It stopped the backfiring and runs pretty good (a little sluggish off the start). Plug looks better, but I m thinking there must be something I m missing if I have to turn the screw all the way in.

Anyone have any suggestions?

What models Defenders have the smart loc front diff's.

Is this something new for the 2019 models??

1994 Polaris 4x4 400L with plow

HI!

Yesterday when i was going to fire up my 2007 can am 800 LTD for the first time after the vinter, the main relay R2 flickers, same with the dashlight. Battery power seems ok. Its been standing for some months, but it was fresh when i parked it last time. Any idea anybody? Seems to be an eletrical fault..

Why does everyone say tire upgrades are the #1 must do mod and act like you cant drive off the showroom floor on stock tires?

I think its a little ridiculous.

Ive put many miles on stock tires at HMT riding eveything from green trails to black/red trails to outlaw trails.

Ive ridden plenty of local trails here in PA. Everything from rock to rivers to mud on a stock 570.

Most of the crew i ride with has stock everything.

I spent the coin on some Bearclaw HTR's and Delta wheels. I also installed a QSC clutch kit from RVS. My buddies stayed stock.

The greatest advantage I've found is aftermarket tires are less prone to flats. I feel the ride is slightly improved because the larger tires soak up some of the roughness on the trail.

I also noticed i dont have to work so hard to get thru some of the mud or over sone big stuff.

A down side is more effort required to turn (base model), more wear and tear on axles, bushing, and bearings. Ive already had to replace all wheel bearings whereas my riding friends have not and we ride the same stuff.

I guess what im getting at is that i feel aftermarket tires are nice and they are definitely better than OEM but I find it really hard to believe they are needed for the majority of riders. I can see if your in the mud all time they are a necessity. But, if youre a basic trail rider, the "need" for them is more want than necessity.
