Hi all,

I’m a relatively new Can-Am owner. I bought a 2017 Outlander XT 650 a little less than a year ago and I’ve put a little over 30 hours on the machine so far.

My last machine was a 2008 Honda Rancher TRX420FM 4X4 with a manual transmission and solid rear axle.

Let’s just say that the Can Am is quite the upgrade. I ride with a bunch of guys and have tried just about all of the brands and made the decision to join team Can Am mainly due to the great performance and the strong heritage of the Rotax powertrains.

I live in Northeast Ohio and ride a lot in my rural neighborhood and in some of my buddies riding spots in the area. I also ride a lot in Western Pennsylvania at a friend’s house and near some camp property that my family owns. I also take at least one trip a year down to the Outlaw Trails in Southern West Virginia.

I’ve been reading this forum quite a bit to help me out with the many upgrades that I’ve been doing over the last year. I plan on posting quite a bit in the near future to help out some people that might be doing some of the upgrades that I’ve been doing.

Thanks for all the help and I hope to be a good contributor to this forum. Here’s some pics of when my machine was brand new the day I picked it up at Mosites Motorsports near Pittsburgh, PA.

$100 off coupon

I received a $100 off coupon that someone can use on a new Polaris. Its a refer a friend thing that Polaris sent me I guess b/c I just bought one a month ago. I get $50 as a referral if someone uses it so its available if someone is actually planning to buy a unit sometime soon. I need to look at the expiration date but I think it was a reasonable time frame. Came in the mail today.

Possible Wheel Bearings?

I have a 2008 Sportsman 300 4x4, I am checking the front wheels, bearings etc. My question is, when i place my hands at 12 o'clock and at 6 on the wheel I can move the wheel back and forth. Is that normal, bearings or something else. Probably a no brainer for you guys and as always Thanks in Advance.

HF Mini Tire Changer?

I've got a bunch of tires including a (new) old Polaris 1986 Trail Master that need changing out or tubes put in. None of the auto or lawn shops near me will touch them so I bought the Harbor Freight Mini Tire Changer. It gets great reviews even for HF on the internet and seems to do the trick.

Problem is that my front tires don't have a center hole and instead use a few bolts that attached to the axle. All other small tires (go karts, lawn mowers, etc.) have a centered hole that gets bolted on. The HF tire changer is made for tires like this.

Before I start creating custom mods/adapters and such was wondering if any other Polaris owners had figured out how to use this. Or is it just I have a super old ATV and nobody else has this problem...

<<UPDATE>>
Ok so i'm a dumbaXX and was looking again and realized I removed the tire from the mounting that goes on the axle. Sorry to clog up the forum but this should be closed
