2016 New Leftover 850 DPS

Looking to buy my first Can Am. Went to a local dealer to check out the 2018 Outlander 1000cc models but he has a brand new, never started 2016 850 DPS unit. He'll take $8,400 for it. After I left I came up with a bunch of questions, but he won't be open until Tuesday.

1. Do the 16's have engine braking, can't find it online?
2. Besides the move to 14" wheels and better tires, any other major improvements to 18?

3. What type of issues should I be looking for on the 16?

4. Thoughts on issues associated with sitting so long (Seals, etc)? Thinking of asking him to swap battery, oil, and antifreeze before I take it. Hoping there is no fuel in it since it wasn't started. Is the factory oil a break-in oil?

Thanks

Weird sound?

Hi all.. im new here, im really looking for some help.
I have a Polaris Sportsman 800 EFI 2006. When i bought it, i tested it really quick, got it home and now have done a big service. Started it, and i think its sounds weird, Klicking sound from the Engine. Oil level is good and it works fine. Maybe maybe it should sound this way? Never owned a atv so i cant tell. 2003 sportsman 500 primary clutch

Working on my 2003 sportsman 500ho that I picked up a few weeks ago.

I wanted to check the condition of the belt and inspect the primary clutch for overall condition.

The primary clutch (with EBS) has seen better days and has hairline cracks running up the sheave. I'll need to replace it. It seems like every EBS clutch I've seen has these cracks in them. Is it a design flaw, poor maintenance or maybe both?

Has anyone else run a non EBS clutch on their sportsman 500? If so, did you have to make any other changes like belt or secondary?

I did this on my previous atv (2000 magnum 500) and ran the same belt and secondary without any problems. It actually ran better without the EBS on it.

2 piece airbox leaking and fine dust making its way thru to my engine

Has anyone had their air box warp and let fine dust thru to their engine? Its a 2 piece design, factory sealed air box. It is leaking between the seams where the 2 pieces join and is supposed to be sealed. I am debating on buying a new one or seal the heck out of it with some crazy plastic adheasive. Is this common? Anyone out there have an older bike that this happened to? This bike has been nothing but problems since new.. i have 4500km on it now. knock on wood, I never had any engine problems but everything else from; bushings, ujoints, air suspension, 2 shock rebuilds, front diff was loose from new, coolant hoses rubbing and wearing out, Oil leaks, diff seal leaks, air leaks, relays and the list keeps on goin.... i barley ride it... there is the exception of bearings, cv boots, an axle do to water, mud and the 30's but I cant seem to ever catch a break.

Rear timing chain tensioner leaking oil….tricks?

Hi guys, I just discovered my rear timing chain tensioner is leaking oil. I have not yet determined if it's coming from the plug o-ring or the housing o-ring. Thinking about replacing them both along with the housing and be done with it. My question is, how difficult is this to do? It seems access area is limited for the rear one and that is my concern. I'm thinking I'm going to have to at least remove the rear exhaust so I can fit my hand in there. Removing the rear CVT housing would be even better, but I don't think that's necessary, is it? Any tricks/advice for those who have done this before would be great. I already tightened the plug, we'll see if that helps. It seemed like it was already snug, so I didn't want to over-tighten it.

thanks in advance!

Severe Clock Drift on 2012 Sportsman Browning 850 EPS

My 2012 Sportsman Browning edition 850 EPS, which came with the fully digital instrument cluster, has always had severe clock drift since the day I got it. I used to reset it regularly (every month it'd be off by hours), but that got so frustrating that I no longer bother and just scowl at it every time I glance down.

Are there any hidden menus, switches, or dials behind the panel which could be used to regulate the clock?
