Snapping an Axle Won’t Slow This Guy Down + VideoIf you listen carefully, you can hear an axle go POP as soon as the right front tire comes back in contact with the rock. Clearly the Can-Am Maverick X3 X RC can get the job done with just three tires spinning as this guy continues his climb up this incredibly steep rock face. A post […] more

Aluminum skid pictures
Hello all,
I would like to purchase some Aluminum skid plates for my 2017 1000 XMR. Looking at Ricochet and Iron Baltic. Does anyone have pictures of the front and rear wheel well area so I can see how the main pan/skid fits up to the inner fender well? Your thoughts on either manufacturer and type would be appreciated as well.

Led lighting question
If I want to change my stock halogen bulbs to led, is there anything I have to do other than change the bulbs?

2018 Renegade Xmr 570 – to mod or not to mod?!
Hey all.
I recently picked up a new Renegade xmr 570 (Nov. 2017). I love the machine a lot, and it has plenty of power for my needs. I love riding in the mud, and wanted a machine at a decent price point that I wouldn't need to modify to suit this riding style.
I've seen many posts about overheating and the need to wrap the exhaust/install tuner/fan switch, etc. However, most of these are regarding 1000r engines, and older models at that.
I haven't come across any posts about this particular year's model, or engine. Perhaps that's a good thing. I'm not interested in changing out clutches, adding aftermarket exhaust (it sounds just fine to me), or any performance upgrades of that nature.
I'm of the belief that this machine was engineered for mud riding, and should perform just fine bone stock.
Since reading all of these "melted plastics" posts, I have become a little worried and maybe paranoid because I've found myself checking the plastics and wondering "it's pretty hot down there, is that enough to melt it?"
I know the xmr only has a 6 month warranty, so melted plastics beyond that time frame could prove costly.
Has anyone melted plastics on this machine? would it be considered absolutely necessary to wrap the exhaust?
I would wrap it in a heat beat if I knew that plastics melting on this machine was a common thing.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

polaris 850 sportsman, no 4×4
Hi folks , wonder if anyone has encountered this one , I have a polaris 850 sportsman 2014 bike , used for work ( farm ) & play , bike has been good recently while reversing there was a metalic clunk and no drive from front diff , the shaft is still turning going into diff but no drive to wheels , removed diff expecting to see a mess inside but its like new isnt that old after all and has been maintained .
Kinda stumped where to look as switch at grip is working as is indicator on dash panel but no drive , could it be shafts ? Glad to hear any ideas .
Thanks
Jim

27-9×12/11×12 tire choices?
Hi there,
Gonna order a Outlander Max 6x6 as soon as the snow has gone and I dont want to use the OE ACT tires. They suck imho. I dont do any mud riding, maybe riding on some marsh if I have to but mostly it will be rocky terrain, riverbeds and gravel roads.
Previously I used the Maxxis Ceros on my Outlander 650 which I was extremely happy with. Excellent tires with great traction when properly aired down. Would buy them again in a heartbeat if they was delivered in 27-9x12/11x12 but they aren't so I have to find something similar.
I have found 3 alternatives which all look pretty decent.
Tusk Terrabite
(GBC)Kanati Mongrel
Carlisle Versa Trail ATR
Out of these three, the Versa Trail is a 6 ply tire which I like, the rest are 8 or 10 ply.
I dont want or need tires with stiff sidewalls.
Any experience on these tires, good or bad?
