Hey y’all, im looking to buy a 2018 outtie 850 or 1000... Im told the 850s are better on fuel then 650s but worse then 1000s... how much worse ? Can you guys let me know what you are getting approximately for distance on a tank, riding fairly normal on 850 and 1000s ? If i can get 100 miles (160kms) on a 1000, ill go that route.
Future 2018 Max owner…but which one?
I have never owned an ATV and only ridden one a few times. My wife and I are newly retired and now have time for more outdoor activities. I am an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoor enthusiast but sidelined for 10 years. Last fall, retired and with two new hips and no back problems and accompanied by my wife, I spent most of six weeks hunting. I can see that I need an ATV fit for two. I looked at side-by-sides but there are places you can't go with a 60" wide UTV. I read about "2-ups" and I haven't looked back...and Can-Am seems to be the favorite brand. But which one to buy? I definitely want to able to climb hills, but don't see myself as a speed demon LOL. I need to carry my wife, cargo for back woods, and be able to pull out a deer or elk. I will be in rough, rocky, hilly, often muddy terrain. I've looked at Outlander Max DPS 570, Max XT 570, Max XT 650 & 850, and Max XT-P. Cost isn't much of an issue but I don't want to underbuy or overbuy what we need. I am thrifty but will buy what I need to insure quality/resale. Accessories: I am looking at quality? shocks whatever that means; lots of cargo storage; windshield? and hand guards for cold, rainy weather; definitely a skid plate but think aftermarket is probably a better bet; fender flares?, radiator protector; a sizeable winch; and some type of protection for trailering and winter storage. I can use all the help I can get BEFORE going to a dealer this ?spring? Thank you in advance.
Future 2018 ATV owner
Hi everyone, I'm retired and my wife and I are going to be first time ATV owners. Never had a place to store an ATV but now saying, what the heck, we'll find a way to store it outside! Reason to buy an ATV? I have two new hips, no back problems and spent 3 weeks hunting last year after being sidelined for 10 years. We spent lots of time driving overgrown "4x4" roads (Idaho has lots of them) with my 91 Toyota pickup that were really just ATV width. I need to move up to a full sized pickup this year but that wouldn't allow me to get on those 4x4 roads at all without an ATV. I've spent the last week reading as much as I can on ATVs (which are the best, most reliable etc) which both my wife and I could ride together and had settled on a side-by-side UTV UNTIL I ran across talk about two-up ATVs and then it didn't take long to settle on a Can-Am Outlander Max. Which one? I need to start a new thread to get help with that answer.

Check Engine Light On, No Code’s!
The other day while riding my 17 850 SP the check engine light came on. I did not lose any performance and all seemed ok but it never went off, I checked several times for codes and it only showed 1 code one time. Unfortunately I was in the middle of the mountains and had nothing to write it on, since then every time I go to start it the check engine light is always on but I cannot get it to show any codes. Any idea's?
