Suspension and ground clearance
So I have a 2009 800 Renegade with Elka Stage 5 shocks. 26" MSA MOTO MTC tires. I recently did a spring change on the shocks and reinstalled them. I previously had about 10" of ground clearance. I thought since I had the work done and had to adjust them I would go for the advertised ground clearance. I think it is 12". Just under 11" and I was not able to go any farther on the rear. It seems that I ran out of travel on the rear track arms or the shocks. Not sure which one for sure. Does anybody have any pointer or info. I want as much ground clearance as I can get yet still get proper performance out of my suspension. I don't think it is good for it to be adjusted all the way out. Maybe I am wrong though. Any advice would be great.
Thanks Everyone.

Under $20.00. Front storage trunk for my Outlander.
I was jealous of my buddy's new official Can Am front storage box, so I wanted one too. But being the cheap SOB that I am... I couldn't bring myself to pay $70 for it. So, here is my solution....
This water proof box from Amazon:

2 of these from Home Depot:

Things to note... It's 28 degrees outside and I don't have a heater, so I will cut the bolts that are sticking up a little shorter with my Dremel tomorrow. Also, I will silicone where the bolts are poking through, but... when I can get into a warm garage. I asked Santa for a garage heater this year. :)

Wheels and tires for Christmas!
Just ordered:

ITP Hurricane 14x7 wheels with 26x9-14 and 26x11-14 Kenda Bearclaw HTR tires for my 2017 850.
Will post some pics once I get them in and mounted up. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Ricochet skids and Duro Powergrips
Finally had some time today to put on on my ricochet ski plates. I'll echo what everyone else says, easy installation and great fit and coverage. I also ordered a set of Duro Powergrip v2 from Rocky mountain ATV shipped to my door for $349. 26x9-12 fronts 26x11-12 rears. Here's where I'm a little upset. I had them installed and they look awesome, but they seemed small. So after measureing with 7psi all around the fronts are 25" and the rears are about 24.75". Needless to say no where near 26". So now I can try and get a exchange with Rocky mountain, which I doubt they would do or just roll with these. Just pisses me off they can be that much smaller then 26"
What would it cost to fix the timing gear BEFORE it breaks?
Looking at a used 2010 XP touring 850....wonder what it would cost to have the timing gear replaced with the new version before it spins.
Can’t locate grease fitting
I have a 2010 Sportsman 500 HO with grease fittings front left and right as well as left and right in the rear. I located those with no problem and greased them. I am supposed to have a 5th grease fitting on the prop shaft or yolk. I'm starting to think there isn't one. Is that possible. No issues, just being proactive. If someone can enlighten me with pics or a better description, I'd sure appreciate it.
Thanks.

04-600 Twin wont suck gas
Howdy, lots of reading but first time posting.
I bought a 2004 Sportsman 600 twin with only 50 hrs on it a while ago that was running really rough and with only the choke out. I stripped everything down, ended up buying a new Carb for it. I put everything back together with a new fuel filter, air filter, carb and plugs. it won't even start now!
Checked spark - Good
Checked fuel line - Good
Sprayed in quick start - Runs for a second!
So I read that the fuel pump really works off of back pressure from the air filter, so I tried covering the air intake and it draws gas in. Then I touch the throttle and bang it starts and runs for a second then dies.
I'm guessing that something is causing it to not have enough back pressure to draw the gas in? not 100% sure how the fuel pump works or where its located.

G2 Max Gearbox Access
Has anyone made a access panel or something like that in the right side floorboard for gearbox oil changes so you don't have to remove that bloody floorboard which is a royal PITA!
If you have please post some pics!:smile
