DPS trouble – use dps from G2 on G1 Outlander

Hi,

My first post, hope to get some help from you.

My original dps broke down, quite common as i understand.
The dps is replaced with a new part number 709401182 according to brp spare parts.
Fine! I was able to get my hands on an almost new unit (709401182 from a XMR 650)
Installed the new dps and had my 2011 XMR 800 to my BRP dealer. They connect to the atv with buds and have the new dps calibrated. The problem is the rest of the modules in the atv won´t recognise the dps.
According to BRP europe it´s because the dps will set for either G1 or G2 the first time it is installed in an atv. And according to them there is no way of changing that later on. I have really hard to see why?

So i have a nice fully functioning dps, but i´m not able to use it since it has been installed in a G2 earlier. Could someone please tell me there is a way of resetting the dps "as new". Maybe with buds engineering, or megatech license?

/Johan.

1999 Sportsman 500 fuel diagram

Hey all, this may be much simpler than I?m making it, but I need a full fuel system diagram or someone to guide me step by step, the previous owner removed all the lines and I?m guessing didn?t know where they went back to.. so, I?m trying to piece it back together....I need tank and reserve sides

2009 sportsman 400HO

My 09 400HO will not run over a certain rpm.

I have performed all the troubleshooting procedures in the factory service manual. Disconnecting the black wire to the CDI unit only defeated the reverse limiter and the ETC. When the black wire is connected, the reverse limiter works and the override button works, but about 15 to 20 mph, the engine starts cutting out. I connected a timing light and verified it is losing spark and is not a fuel issue. The manual is not definitive as to whether the problem is in the dash, CDI unit, pulse generator, coil or spark plug cap. The spark plug is new, the coil, pulse gen, alternator and spark plug cap all ohm out within spec.

Anyone else experience this problem with this model or any other model? I'm thinking the dash or CDI unit might be the culprit.

Your experience would be appreciated.

Broken speedometer

I have a 05 sportsman 800 and noticed the speedometer wasn't working, I'm not a mechanics type of person and after riding it this afternoon I noticed this tube was broke... I am assuming there is a correlation between the two?

Master Cylinder Test

2004 Scrambler 500 4x4. I replaced the rear caliper that seemed to be frozen. Front brake lever controls the right side of the rear and works fine. The rear pedal barely pushes any fluid through. A check of the reservoir shows it is still virtually fill. How do I check whether or not the master cylinder (or that is what I assume the thing the pedal is fastened to is called) is functioning?

Not sure what to do, in need of opinions!

Hello all,

My story is that I've been riding ATVs and dirtbikes since I was 5 (I'm now 27). I have recently been really into bikes, rode a CR250 hard in central PA for a few years and started to get more into enduro riding, so I went and bought a '17 KTM 250xc. I was having an absolute blast on it until about 3 weeks ago, after putting my 10th hour on it I glanced a tree and landed on my wrist causing a scaphoid fracture. For anyone that doesn't know anything about it, it's a horrible little bone in your wrist that takes forever to heal when broken. Now I am in a cast for what seems like the foreseeable future, working limited duty and missing out on my favorite time of the year activities, hunting, etc.

I currently have an 07 Rincon with itp wheels, bighorns, hmf exhaust and optimizer, and uni filter. I enjoy riding it but it's no Can am. Perfect for cruising around for comfort when not out on a wild 2 stroke bike.

My conondrum is that as I sit here injured, I feel like I'm never going to ride the bike as seriously as I had prior to getting hurt. I guess I'm going to wait until I'm healed up to take it out again and see how I feel, but my gut is telling me I won't be into it.

I'm considering selling the bike privately (there is a huge market for them) so I hopefully won't take too big of a hit on it. I love the idea of an 850 or 1000xtp to have an awesome quad that will still satiate my adrenaline junkie, thrill seeking, lol!

I guess I'm just seeing what other people think about it all. I would also either sell the Rincon or trade it in. As I said the Rincon is sweet, but if a quad is the only thing I'll have, I'd rather have top of the line, which I believe to be can am.

Thanks all
