Polaris sportsman 500 efi dies when idle and backfire

Hello. I have a polaris sportsman 500 EFI x2 2007. The Atv dies when Idle, the machine is working at 1120-1180 and suddenly dies and backfire. the rpm are not stable. when the rpms are at 3000 rps suddenly goes to 2000 and then die. while driving is not smooth. at the begining i had this problem only when the machine was warm. approx after 30 minutes of use. now i have the problem all the time.
the check engine flashes and disappears.

i already visited a garage and they havent found something. they have cleaned the EFI system but again i have the same problem.

2017 850 XT Shocks

Just took the above mentioned bike for the first ride today and this machine still has IMO scary (bad) shocks. I had an 07 800 outty and replaced the stock shocks with HPG I believe they were Bilitens and made a big improvement in the ride.

My question is will those HPG fit the 2017 outty? If not what are my options? I think I paid $250 for all 4 shocks and reused the stock springs and was quite happy. From what I am seeing for options are $1200 Elka or $600 Fox from the renee shocks.

DB Electric. Solenoid

I have a 2012 Sportsman 550 X2. It hasn't been starting so I jumped the connectors on the solenoid, which started it. I went to the local dealer and they would have to order it....2 weeks! I ordered one from DB Electric and had it here in four days. Problem Is It Doesn't Fit! The bracket on the replacement one has dog legged mounting holes instead of the bracket running straight. It's Sunday and I'm left a week behind now. Sent a reply and phone call to DB to see what my options are. At this point the $10 savings and speedy delivery aren't adding up. Yes, I did follow there cross reference guide when ordering.

Ace gas mileage

I have a chance to buy a new ace 900 and I was wondering if the gas mileage is as bad as some owners are saying? We ride mostly wooded trails with a top speed of 30-35 mph.I ride a scrambler 850 and can get 100 miles out of a tank full.I can't see how some say their only getting 50-60 miles out of a tank unless it's the gearing.:feedback:

2002 Sportsman 700 Twin – worth it?

Morning folks,

Have a line on a 2002 Sportsman 700 twin for $2k (Canadian). Has the 2-up seat, LED headlights, winch, new battery/stator/flywheel, and 2 year old tires.
Known issues are the gauge cluster not working (speedo and odometer) and the choke cable is seized. 4x4 works, starts and runs well.

I'm looking for a general trail rider/bush machine, maybe a bit of light work (hauling my landscaping trailer around the yard, possibly slap a plow on it). I also volunteer with the local snowmobile club, so I'd likely be doing some mud/harsh trail riding when doing spring/fall trail maintenance, but that won't account for a ton of usage.

This a decent deal? Anything I should really keep an eye on? Specific pain-points?

Thanks a ton in advance!

Polaris Related Signs?

Anyone weird enough to buy any Polaris banners/signs/etc for your garages?

I picked up this a while back... A little less than 18' long.

New Polaris ATV owner

My wife and I just bought a 2017 Sportsman 850 SP in radar blue the other day. This is the first Polaris ATV either of us have ever had. I have ridden Polaris sleds all my life and have brought her into the world of Polaris sleds over the last 7 years. We have 2 800 pro ride chassis sleds. The 850 seems pretty awesome so far. Wasn't going to buy the sp and just settle for the base model but I'm glad we got the sp. no more shovelling the drive way!

570 SP Hunter Edition – 6 months

Greetings,

Six months ago I purchased the 570 SP Hunter Edition. I've put around 350 miles on it since, all on dirt. Not a ton of miles, but I've been able to get it out nearly every weekend since bringing it home.

I have not encountered one single issue with this ATV. I absolutely love it. I'm not sure if it's just the power steering, the double A-arm suspension, the radial tires... but it handles extremely well for what I ask it to do. The motor is a really good down low and in the mid-range. I've never tried to get it to a top speed, and probably never will. The features are perfect, and all Sportsman owners know what I am talking about... great storage, great seat comfort, etc. I've said before that the new digital gauges are great, and still feel that way... love it.

I see some posters complain about the engine braking on the 570s, or other models in general. It is stout. Fortunately, this is the second Sportsman I've had with this feature, so I was able to get the perfect throttle feathering quickly. Rarely do I need to use brakes. If you're considering going away from this ATV because of engine braking, I would suggest reconsidering. You can't get the feathering down pat on a dealer test ride. But following the first good ride or two, you will have it licked. It becomes an absolute non-issue. In my view, way more upside in having it than not for my type of riding. I'd like to hear from those that ride in the mountains a lot. Maybe they have a different view.

Anyway, just sharing my thoughts so far. I hope this provides some perspective for someone that is searching for opinions before making a purchase decision.
