03 Polaris Magnum 330 4×4 CDI/ECM issue

I purchased this bike for my daughter earlier this summer as a basket case with a spun rod bearing and finally got around to the rebuild last week.

After getting the engine taken care of and back in the bike I started it up without any issue. I was letting it sit and idle to get up to temp and saw smoke start pouring from the front (the CDI box). I was going to just order the CDI but I want to make sure I am fixing the issue not just buying a new CDI to cook. I have read there are some issues with the voltage regulators/ECM on these bikes but i cant see how to test it. As soon as I turn on the key the CDI starts smoking so I cant run it.

ECM Part Number on this model is 4010944

Best tie rods gen 1 outlander 800

I wanted to upgrade my tie rods and was wondering what the best tie roads are? I was contemplating power steering and a locker so I wanted to beef it up. I heard good things about American Star "pro" series but I also heard their heim joints are garbage. These threads were several years old so not sure if they fixed the issue or not. Thanks in advance.

Yep, new here

Have read many posts but finally signed up. Have a 2009 polaris hd 700 with a gremlin. Have had it to the repair shops several times , unfortunately after all the repair bills, the problem still exists. Cant wait to figure out this forum as im sure someone else has had the same gremlin. Lol when the ignition is turned on it will either start fine, hesitate and then start, go to turn over and just whur, or the battery light and needle will flash.

2004 outlander starter issue

Hello everyone.

So one of mine is giving me an issue.

I know the plastic reduction gear cover is broke and that's what was causing the rattling after it started but what is causing the horrible noise when I hit the start button? It fires right up and the starter gear appears to be working correctly because it engages and disengages from what I can see with the cover off it. I pulled the starter out earlier and bench tested with a 12v power supply. It spun with no issues and no noise but I'm wondering if it is because there was no resistance on it. Any ideas???
