Low Range climbing a hill may break gear box?
Hello everyone,
Couple weeks ago I purchased a 2nd hand 2013 Outlander Max 800R XTP and it is my first ATV. Last week I went to climb a sand hill with a couple of friends and they told me to use Low range to climb it slowly. So I did it and at all times it was below 6000 RPM. Suddenly, while I was climbing it sound like something just got broken and stop and turn off. I turned it on again and put R and it did but then it didn´t accept again neither L or H. We manage to put it in neutral ( never turn it on again ) again and when we were back at normal terrain ( horizontal ) I noticed that it was loosing some oil. ( in my parking place before this it never loose any oil )
I just came back from the dealer and they are telling me that I was never supposed to do that ( put L Range to climb a sand hill ) and that is reason why the gear box got a fissure.
Appreciate all your comments regarding this.
Thank you in advance!

That’s One Way to Unload a UTV + Video
That’s One Way to Unload a UTV + VideoIt’s not all that uncommon to see a UTV in the bed of a pickup, but loading said UTV into the pickup can pose quite a challenge. This is far the safest and most convenient way to load and unload a UTV from the back of a pickup. If you happen to have a tractor […] more
02 Sportsman 90 Running Issue
I just cleaned out the carb and it now starts right up as soon as you touch the electric start button...problem i have having is that when you hit the gas hard to take off, it sort of bogs down but not so much if you hit the gas at only about 1/4 throttle almost as if the choke is still on. I took it down the street and it opened up but then spit out the exhaust and was again riding like the choke was still on. Any suggestions? Do you think the electric choke is bad? I don't know how to tell.
