Fall is coming!

Was cleaning out the garage and hauling trash to the landfill. Noticed a burning smell! Pulled off the seat, saw a little smoke. Pulled off the side plastic and the CVT exhaust boot. Found a mouse nest in there! Time to pull the clutch cover and give it a good cleaning. Hope my story is a good reminder to those of us who keep there ATV outside most of the year.

Polaris sportsman 6×6 2008 – left front wheel moves when awd off

Hello i have a problem with my polaris, noticed when going in reverse that it pulls to one side. This also happened going forward on time it was almost impossible to steer.

jacked the atv up with all 6 tires in the air with the awd off and in h gear. When i turn the awd switch on all tires moves, when its off the left front wheel still moves. I have changed the oil and everything looks ok. Is this electrical or mechanical you think? Im guessing i need to order new clutch hub but im not sure and thats why im posting. Thank you very much!:grin

No start issue… Again.

Ok so I posted in the mechanical section a while back and got a few ideas but nothing great. Thought I would narrow it down and put it in the outlaw forums.

The link the the previous post is right here if you guys wanna read the whole thing.

The issue is no start. Cranks hard. Has spark, compression, and the timing is correct. I listed off everything I did/checked in the above post.

I am starting to believe the issue I have is electrical because when it tries to start it feels and sounds sort of like it is being cut off or shut down via the electrical system.

Where should I start to look for safety or kill switches that could cause this issue?

BTW, the neutral switch seems to be working correctly and so does the kill switch. Looking for other known areas that have switches/sensors that need to be checked.

Thanks in advance.

New Here

Hello to everyone.

I am relatively new to the ATV sport but have owned motorcycles, go carts and fast cars. I purchased a Sportsman 570 late last year but because of an unexpected illness have yet to make any good rides except in the neighborhood.

Thanks and see you all around

2 more questions

When you first start your bike, in my case, a 2008 Sportsman 500, is the clicking sound the starter?

#2- does the starter affect the fuel pump? I assume the fuel pump won't work if your starter is fried, is that correct?

Thanks in advance.

Any suggestions

We have a 2017 highlifter 1000 and we cannot get this thing to stop over heating. We take rad cover off every ride and clean it religiously. I can see light though the whole thing before every ride. Then e ride 8 hours and it's over heating. Air filter is r2c. Snorkels are extended because grass seeds and trash was getting thrown into snorkels and clogging air filter. I am at a loss of what to do besides get rid of it and buy something different. And yes the rest tail light goes out every other ride too. Tired of changing that thing out too.
