My outlaw 525 had a starter problem where i could hear the starter spinning but it wasnt turning the engine over. I took the clutch cover off to see it and the starter is spinning the big gear behind the clutch and it is spinning the gear on the crankshaft, but the engine is still not turning over. I can turn the engine over via the crankshaft nut on the other aide of the motor though, amd it will spin the whole crank. I do not know what is up with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
How have the frames, diff cover, ADC, bearings, bushings and heat issues been on the 2017s?
While the forums are full of threads on these and other issues, I have not really seen a lot of threads with these issues on the 17s....are they better?
I just did a test ride on a 2017 XP1000 and there is simply not another atv I have ever been on that compares. I really tried to like the 570 touring (the reason I went to the dealership today) sitting next to it but the seat is nowhere near as comfortable and the floorboards are about 1/2 the size.
The power is insane yet with the 3 mode throttle you can turn it down for steep technical crawling around.
How are you 2017 owners liking you XP1000s? Which version (standard or LE) do you prefer?

It idles great but when you give it throttle it dies I've tried all I can think of and Im going insane and now to make things better there's oil and smoke coming from the exuast manifold

Sportsman XP 1000 Touring Hillbilly Cargo Box Solution
Apparently the brilliant minds in the Polaris Engineering Dept havent been able to figure out a cooler carrying solution for the 1000XP Touring model yet so this is what I came up. What do you all think?
Trailer Help Sportsman 570 Touring
I need help getting a new trailer for my sportsman 570 touring. I am looking at a Big Tex or PJ trailer thats 83" wide and 14' long. It has side ramps but I don't know if I would be able to put the touring sideways on this trailer. Does anyone know if this would fit? I was looking at this trailer in the hopes I could fit two touring ATV's on it as my buddy has a 1000 Can Am. I think it would be too tight loading both from the rear gate.

We have a 1000 commander and I'm active on that forum but I wanted to join here too as a lot of the mechanicals are the same or similar between the atvs and sxs's. Plus I like the atvs too!

Hi guys. This is my first post. I'm from Elkhart, IN and I bought a new 2017 Sportsman 570 in Camo last week and was wondering if there's anything specific I should be aware of? Any suggestions and tips will be much appreciated.
2017 HD8 XT heat problems with full windshield
I just bought a new HD8 XT and had the full windshield installed at the dealership. My wife and I took it for a ride the other day and it got really hot in the seating area. I don't have a back window installed and this is a non cab unit. Right behind the seats seems to get really warm. Would installing a back window help? Or what do you guys suggest. I don't want to go with a half windshield because of the bugs hitting you when driving at night.
