Hey guys, I bought a 2014 Polaris 850 XP. Guy said he had some water come over the front, it died. He restarted it, drove 1/4 mile home and parked it for a week, started it, and he saw the wrench come on and thought it was bad, and left it sit for 3.5 years. I bought it and with a little work, it fired up and ran like a champ. No issues, besides what I'm hoping was the belt slipping. It'll be here tomorrow to replace. However, I had this small oil leak from the head, a little smoke from the exhaust, and kind of a sweet smell, which I figured could have been coolant. I did a compression test and had around 100-110 pounds on one cylinder, and about 90-100 on the other. I decided to tear it down today, and I guess I'm not exactly sure how the oil would have got to the other side of the coolant channel to leak out. There aren't any cuts on the gasket, but...what does a bad head gasket look like? Did I do the right thing? I am also changing the injectors because it say so long and one had dirt down inside past the O-ring. Thanks for looking guys!
One more thing. Just noticed one set of intake valves is clean, other is dirty and same for exhaust valves?
