Hello

Im new to the forum, i own a 425 magnum that i am slowly fixing up.
My kill switch died on me, and i was wondering that if i just cut the wires on the switch, will it bypass it?

Transmission shift lever stuck

New member so please be easy on me..:grin

I have a bobcat 3400xl 4x4 diesel utility vehicle which has the Polaris transmission (part # 1332980) in it. I understand this is a Polaris site and not a bobcat site but being that the transmission is a Polaris I was wondering if anyone has run into this problem. I unfortunately lent the machine out to a relative last week, when it was returned he had mentioned that he believes the transmission shift cable broke. After a quick look I found not only the transmission shift cable broke but the transmission shift lever is stuck also. I removed the cvt cover just to check the belt, belt is fine and drive clutch along with the driven clutch spin freely. Engine starts and runs fine and rear driveshaft moves freely. I had the machine jacked up while running and tried to move the shift lever and it will not move forward or backwards.. Anyone have this problem before, is it time to pull the tranny? any help would gladly be appreciated.

Scenario: Polaris Scrambler 2006 stopped in middle of ride. Turn key and just a click. Changed solenoid and cranks but doesn’t start. Changed spark plug which is getting spark and same thing. Could it be dirty carb?

Hot hands

Been tossing it around whether or not to put hot hands on this PoPo. The last 4 ATV I had them and did not use them any great deal. But then I got 4 new sets at a Snow show for about $10 all. Those are all since gone.
What kind are you using and where are you getting them and price. Really would not want to pay more than $20.

Alternatives To Polaris Brand Products

Hey guys I'm a complete novice to Polaris, I've owned my Polaris Sportsman 500HO a whole three day's now and it's my first Polaris. Normally when I buy a used ATV I want to go through it and change out all fluids and filter's for my peace of mind. As with other ATV's I've bought used in the past I've received no kind of detailed maintenance records and with this latest purchase of the Polaris Sportsman no maintenance records.

What I'm getting to is maybe you guys that have owned the Polaris ATV's for years could share alternative products that are basically the same as the Polaris branded fluid product. Just as good to use.

Like for example if I wanted to change out the antifreeze/coolant on my new to me 2008 Polaris Sportsman 500HO AWD do I have to use or is it highly recommend to use the Polaris brand premix/concentrate antifreeze/coolant/flush or could I use something like premix/concentrate Prestone or Zerex antifreeze/coolant/flush brand?

I've already seen that some of you use a alternative engine oil instead of the Polaris brand engine oil, like Mobil 1,Rotella synthetic oil, etc.

Don't limit it to just antifreeze/coolant, engine oil, but any alternative fluid like transmission,ADC,diffs, etc. That you know for a fact is good to use.

What can you vouch for as a alternative?

Thanks

Tony
