Pickup truck rack

I generally move my outlander around in the back of my 1/2 ton. I just got a couple kayaks and am thinking that some adventures this summer will include both toys. Has anyone used or built a set of racks that will let you still load your bike and still carry extra stuff like a kayak or canoe?
I can build something but am also willing to look at aftermarket solutions.
Thanks in advance.

New Guy

Hi Everyone!
I am new to the Can-AM world. I recently purchased a used Maverick R 1000 Turbo and I am looking for a place to get some answers about it. I am looking forward to reading all of your posts

Here is how to reset/erase the MAINTENANCE REQUIRED message

A lot of people have trouble with the procedure.
The manual says to hold the SET button and then toggle HI and LOW beam 3 times then release the SET button.
It's missing some important steps :

1 - Turn ignition ON but don't start the quad.
2 - You HAVE to be on the ODOMETER (total quad mileage) display.
3 - Put HIGH BEAMS ON. (You must start the procedure from HI BEAMS)
3 - Press and HOLD the SET button.
4 - Toggle HI - LOW three times WITHIN 2 SECONDS.
5 - Release SET button.
6 - Turn ignition OFF and wait until the dash goes dark.
7 - Turn ignition back ON, VOILA! MESSAGE GONE.

I think a lot of people can't get it working because step 2 and step 3 are NOT mentioned in the user manual. It is however mentioned in the SHOP manual.

Stuck rear inner CV joint

I have a 2014 sportsman 570. I have tried two different times over the past couple years to remove bothe rear CV axles from the diff and they won’t budge. Had to rebuild axles while they were on the bike which is a pia.tried soaking for days w/ pb blaster, wrapped a ratchet strap behind inner cup and tied to fence post , tried wire wrapped behind it and beat with slide hammer. Does anybody have any ideas my outer boot came off and I really want both these axles out so I can install complete new sixity’s. At my wits end!!!

outlander oil

Still have about 4 - 5 ft of snow, but am getting ready to do fluids change on an 06 400 I got last fall. Have seen where 5 - 40 oil is the norm, but according to the manual unless you are going to be riding in temps over 96 F then 5-30 is good. Since 5-30 is a lot more common, does anyone use it and what are the opinions? I don't expect to be doing more than one oil change a year so dollar wise is pretty insignificant, but just considering.

Traxter rear drive shaft brand new

Long time no talk! The reason I have not been active recently on the page is due to me not owning my 2001 Bombardier Traxter 500 anymore, and have purchased a 2008 Arctic Cat 500 TRV.

Digging through my belongings, I found a brand new rear drive shaft that I intended to put on my wheeler when the splines on both the coupler and shaft were shredded. Unfortunately, since the coupler was toast, I had to get both and stumbled upon a used coupler/shaft combo on eBay. So, in turn, there was no need to use the new drive shaft. It took my local dealer three weeks to find it, and ended up finding the part sitting in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. They believe it is the last OEM drive shaft available in the country and I can believe that because after I received my part the online sites showed the product no longer available.

If any of you are struggling to find the OEM Spicer rear drive shaft for your Traxter, shoot me a message and we could work out a price. Trying to help out anyone so we can keep these durable machines in good, working order.

Polaris Scrambler Clutch, and Transmission

Hi,

I have a 2014 Polaris scrambler 1000 with some customizations on it. I have 28" tires and a 2 inch lift kit.And it has a weird problem. And this problem has happened before. For some reason when ever I stomp on the throttle, it makes a really loud grinding sound coming from the transmission, and once i get up to speed the grinding sound stops. but it does it everytime i stomp on the throttle. And it does it whenever i slow down really fast. And it does it whenever i go through the mud. It is really obnoxious and annoying. But whenever I install a new transmission, the grinding seems to stop and the atv will run normally. But after about 3-4 months the grinding starts again out of no where. I just got done installing its 4th transmission. And the atv is running fine again. But I'm pretty sure the atv is going to start doing the same thing again in a few months. Ive heard about performance clutches that I can get but i don't know if thats the problem. If anyone knows what this is, please let me know how to fix this problem

Thanks
