Back to original height after having rear axle popping out

I had a 2" lift kit on my 2016 Outlander 850 Max XT.
I bought it used last winter and it was already raised.

I had read a few articles but on risks but didn't bother.
After one of my rear axles popped out last weekend, I said the hell with it and bought the original sway bar links and removed the brackets for the shocks. I got some tinny metal shavings making their way in my diff because the tip of the axle was rubing against the tooth edges from the diff. Flushed it many times and hopefully I won't kill my rear diff !!!!

Wow, I can't beleive how smooth it rides !!
What a big difference.
Especially being new to the ATV world at 55 years old.

Will pray for the diff's life !!!!!

New here. can you tell me where the regulator rectifier is located on the maverick trail?
Looking at one to buy that I think has a charging problem and I want to put a meter on it to check.

Maxxis Zilla 9″ on rear

Has anybody here run a set of Maxxis Zilla 9" tires on the rear. I am thinking about a same size tire and wheel combo on all four corners. Maxxis site says front tire on their web page. Will this be a problem? Is the tread pattern different for front and rear with the Zillas? Cheers all

New Member, a few questions

Hey Guys. New member here in Indy. I just picked up a 2013 850 XP EPS, for what I thought was a killer deal. It has 180 hours on it and I got it for $4500. Seemed like a great deal but there are a few issues.

First, the muffler is completely rusted out. No big deal, bought an eco big gun slip on. But when I got all the plastics off, I noticed one of the studs on each header is snapped off. So each header only has 1 stud holding it on. I thought about fixing this but I'm sure that is easier said than done. Should I just do the ol' lighter check, and if no leaks, dont worry about it?

Second. This thing idles horribly on a cold start and smells VERY rich. In fact I have to give it a bit of throttle to get it to start, and hold on the throttle for a bit until it warms up. Once its warm it seems to idle fine. I've heard there's a air idle sensor somewhere that you can adjust?

Third. This thing is CAKED all over the interior with the infamous red Tennessee clay. The previous owners just never took the time to take the plastics off to clean her up. Almost every mechancial/electrical component is covered in red clay. Now that I have the plastics off, Can I just go at this thing with a powerwasher with no worries? or is that a bad idea? (lots of mechanicals and electricals that probably wouldn't act right if water got inside).

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

Best replacement battery?

Purchased my new Sportsman 570 with winch and plow about 2 months ago. Haven't used it much, but the original battery just doesn't seem to be what I expected. At startup, it's at about 11.4 volts before the engine is started. Once started, it's up to about 12.7 - 14 volts. I don't like the 11.4 at the beginning, so I'd like to replace it. What's the best battery I should buy? Thanks all, in advance.

2015 SP Front Storage Compartment

Hi, New Polaris owner here with a question. I have a 2015 850 SP Touring. The front storage box is removable by opening the lid and releasing two quick connects. The quick connects are near the handlebars (not front of machine). The box lifts straight out and sets back in easily. The problem is that when it is locked in, I can lift the front (just above the headlights) straight up. There are no hooks or connections at the front near the headlights (only the two quick connects).

Is this normal? or is there some sort of hook or latch missing in the front? I checked with 2 dealers so far and they are unsure.... Thank for anyone who has some insight.....

2019 question

I am sorry if this has been answered, but I just joined today. I am about to purchase a can am. I want a maverick and my favorite model I can afford is the x3 900 HO that was in the ‘18 line, but not the ‘19. Anyone know why? There are a few ‘18’s still around so I want to know if there was an issue before I make the purchase. Thanks
