Thanks for adding me!! New to the ATV world at the age of 66! Just purchased a New 2019 Outlander 650 Max Xt.

Purchased the premium trunk box and looking for video of the electrical extension install and removing the plastics to do so.

Any videos out there?

Figured I'd avoid the cold garage and hit or miss approach and research before attempting install.

I have the sheets from BRP instructions but not very clear!

Service manual has differing torque method/specs for either black or silver head bolts...
Silvers came out of my engine but when I order new ones will they send Black, Silver, other??
Is one an upgrade from the other??
Does it even matter?!?

Just picked up this used atv,live in southern Ontario not far from Toronto.I have a few questions but one in particular is the talk of gen 1or 2 .Is that just model years or styles not really sure what you guys are talking about.

I have a 1999 Polaris 500 and all three head lights went out. When you flip the switch, nothing happens. I was wondering if anyone could help me. I know the bulbs are good. Are there any fuses or relays that I can check? If so where are they located?

Hello, i have found lots of useful info on this forum and have decided to join and hopefully continue to learn more as i go.

Recently i purchased a 2009 sportsman 850XP with a blown engine. The price was right and i have been looking for a semi long term project to keep me busy this winter.
a little bit of background:
I have a full factory service manual for this machine, very helpful. I have experience working on ATV's, cars etc. I have not fully rebuilt an engine like this one, but am confident that i will be able to do so, taking my time and having the help of a close friend who has done many engine rebuilds on dirt bikes/snowmobiles and is an auto mechanic by trade.
The machine has 2040 miles. Besides the engine, it is in good shape.The machine still has the original tires.

Where i am at right now:
the engine is pulled from the machine.

The engine is shot, the cases are broken and not usable. I believe something in the bottom end went out and caused catastrophic damage. I pulled the head and the cylinders are in good shape, no gouges or scoring. the very bottom of one cylinder is gouged from the piston rod and one piston is destroyed from the rod breaking free.

here is my plan so far:
-I have taken the engine apart and as i suspected there is nothing inside that is usable.
-Next i will be making a parts list and order the parts when needed. (this is where i would like some advise)
-find a good used set of engine cases. i would then have them honed. There is a nice set of 2017 cases for sale right now. from my research i believe these should work?
-rebuild. basically all new internals.

I am not looking to build this engine for more power than stock. this is already more power than i will likely need. My goal is to have an engine that is basically stock and reliable for normal trail riding ETC..
what i am interested in is:
- advice on what parts are recommended for this engine. factory OEM, aftermarket etc.. typically i like to go OEM but i know that inst always best
-what known issues does this engine have that i can upgrade while am doing the build. i know the crankshaft has been upgraded over the years, etc..
-while i have the engine out, what else is do you all recommend? tranny maintenance, etc..

as i get parts ordered ETC i will update, along with the questions i come up with along the way.

I know that i could buy a rebuilt/refurbished engine, however that would defeat the purpose of the project for me as i want to do the work myself, with help, learning along the way.

Read many many threads on lighting. Lots of different opinions and suggestions. I plan to get some Oracle Halo's. Probably red, my teams colors that i coach. I want some good, reliable and bright LED headlights, high and low so I'll need 4 bulbs. I want them to be brighter than stock, but they don't need to be much brighter. I know LED's glare less so they are clearer which is very important. Budget is under $250.00. What suggestions do you light guys have?

2016 570 owner with the dreaded left side heat issue. I am hoping to learn from others on how to make riding my machine bearable.

First time poster of any type of thread.

Cant stop limp mode. Takin to dealership several times claim no codes or blame the belt. To try and fix the problem I have done , Fresh fuel, New plugs, New belt, now a clutch kit (in case it was slipping), new fuel filter and still cant go on a ride with out limp mode. Has anyone else ran into this ? The dealership I purchased from seem incompetent and want to charge now since out of warranty all though for 2018 they actually had it more than I did trying to fix problems....

I purchased a used 2001 Sportsman 400 late last year and the speedometer and indicator lights do not work. The machine works fine with no known issues. I'm not sure if the 4wd is engaging it not...no light comes on indicating that it's engaged. The only light that shows is the green neutral light. No light for reverse or overheating. Any thoughts? I didn't see any loose connections when I removed the cover that houses the speedometer. Would a bad speedometer cause these symptoms? Hoping someone has some experience and can point me in the right direction.
