Is a 250$ power commander really necessary when installing a big gun exhaust on my '16 polaris sportsman 570?
Engine cranks hard. electrical problem
Bought 2003 quest. $1000. nice condition, no cracks or anything broken. the guy I bought it from gave me the receipts for having engine rebuilt recently.
but it still would not start. he gave up on it.
I removed clutch cover and it turns easy by hand.
cranked with starter and noticed wires going into engine at secondary clutch area were hot and smoking.
when I disconnected the wires engine cranks fast like it should.
there are 3 wires. white, brown and green/yellow into motor.
I thought they may go to magneto/stator coil.
I googled it and found something saying secondary lock circuit. I don't know what that is unless that is some kind of engine brake thing?
does anyone know what the wires go to?
do I have to pull the stator cover side of engine?
funny thing is, wires only seem to be getting hot from where they exit engine to connector.
do not know why pic is upside down

Thanks for the add I have a 2014 canam renegade 500 stock for now.
Still going on a 2002 traxter xt.
wondering if there is a safe bypass to power rear fan. Fan works, but does not run, and shuts down when hot. I have seen posts where a switch can be added to wires from temp sensor.(temp sensor replaced also.)
Thoughts welcome!

Aluminum Footwell Question
I have been creepin the forum for a few months now and I appreciate all the information out here. I decided today was the day I make an account and join the fun.
First question is something I cant seem to find much information on. Maybe it exist, and I just cant use the search too, if so please excuse.
Question - What are the pros and cons to the aftermarket aluminum footwells that clear "up to" 33 inch tires?
I am planning to do a new primary, and Elka Stage II, but I would like to increase tire size without adding a lift. Seems to me the footwells are the most logical solution, but yet I cant seem to find much info.

carb fuel routing and surging
HELLO! My name is Vern. I'm from London Ontario in Canada.
I purchased a 1998 Polaris Magnum 44 about 6 months ago and I've been fixing it up ever since. Got it at a good price(less than 500 bucks)
It looked in fair condition and I started to do some routine maintenance on it when I noticed why it went for so cheap. The front end was in bad shape.
I've basically rebuilt the entire front end and it's looking really nice.
when I first got it. It didn't run. It had been sitting under a tree for 4 years and was forgotten about.
I put a new battery in it, a new solenoid, cleaned out the fuel tank, changed all filters and sprayed a little brake clean it the carb and she fired up no problem.
BUT!!! I had to rebuild the carburetor, float was out of adjustment and fuel jets were plugged considerably.
I've run into a problem since I rebuilt the carburetor. the machine fires up but surges and I have forgotten where the fuel lines routing goes. I think I buggered up the fuel routing. Could anyone tell me the proper fuel routing and why it is surging. there is no throttle response since I've rebuilt the carb.

2016 Outlaw 50 won’t start.
This bike was running fine my son and I rode and parked are bikes it sat for maybe a week and now it won’t start. A little history on the bike it has always seemed very cold natured but would always crank right up it just would be a little sluggish at first but once it warmed up it ran great. I purchased this bike brand new and was told it was normal and lurked in a few forums and from what I was reading it confirmed what the dealer told me. So now the bike won’t start at all. I removed the carb to take a look and it was very clean. I got the carb cleaned out only because I already had it out and back together and on the bike and it cranked right up and would idle very well but when I would try and give it gas it would just bogg out but would crank right back up. The bike sat for one night and now it won’t start at all. Any suggestions would be great. It has a Mikuni carb.
