1998 Polaris Sportsman 400 Choke adjustment

Is there a proper way to adjust the choke on a 98 Sportsman 400 2 stroke ? It does not start when cold without a shot of starting fluid with or without choke but once it starts it runs great and restarts every time - I do not see much difference if the choke is on or off

Yammy guy!

Well I’m one of those typical Yamaha guys that litteraly bleeds blue unfortunately for me Yamaha doesnt make 1000Cc ATV model so I decided to sell my 2017 grizzly 700 for a 2016 Can Am Renegade 1000 XMR I purchased the bike used well barely used the atv is basically new the exhausted hadn’t even been heated to the point where it changes color to that mud soaked dirt rust color haha i have had it for a month or so but took it for its first real ride today and MAN is this thing a beast I love the power and the insane things it glides through. One thing I noticed and maybe you guys out there in the can am world can help I do here what I believe is clutch noise sometimes knocking after I hit the throttle or throttle out into a down hill idle can an let me know do the xmrs have a little more play to allow for the crazy power etc anyone else experiencing these noises

Can anyone let me know if my clutch sounds right

I have attached a video of my clutch engaging it seems to make a knocking I hear it alot while riding I thought it might have been a drive issue but there doesn’t seem to be any large amounts of play in all my joints any help would be appreciated thank you
Alex,

07 sportsman 800 Rear control arms

So I was looking at replacing the bushings in my rear control arms and was curious if anyone makes aftermarket arms . I was looking at a set of the arched front arms(give ya 1.5” of clearance ) and now I’m wondering what everyone does for the rears. I have a 07 sportsman 800 picked it up used earlier this year and the left rear bushings seam to be warn now so I want to change them but thought maybe I could do a better set of lower arms while I’m taking it all apart. Anyone have any good arms to use or where to go? Thanks for the info :grin

Rain water got in my gas tank- HELP-

Hello All,

So I let my son take my quad upstate yesterday to go riding with his friends. He did the right thing and fueled it up yesterday but there was like 1" of rainfall last night and guess what... He didn't put the gas cap back on before the rain!
He didn't even realize it until after he rode it for an hour today! The bike is a 2016 Outlander 850 so it's FI and vTwin.

My question is how best can I make sure there's nothing that gets screwed up fron here?

I'm sure draining the gas is the first step and then what?

Also, is there a secret to draining the gas out? Syphon, etc.?

Thanks!
