2011 Renegade 800 gearbox/tranny major issues
Went out for a ride last night. Was driving down icy, snowy trails, over a few whoops and everything seemed fine. Started heading home. Was doing about 40 miles an hour over a rough section, then all of a sudden I started slowing down, the machine revved up quickly , I thought I took a belt out. Nope I wish it was just a belt, second thought was there goes my diff like everybody else, nope that wasn't it either. Rear drive shaft will not turn, I can reach down and grab the output shaft where it comes out of the gearbox, and there is significant slack up and down. I do have front wheel drive, that's how I got it home. It also has low, high, and reverse, just no power is being put through the rear. Did I Shear that back output shaft do you think? I'll be tearing into it in a few days and will post pictures as well. The price of these things is kind of scary. Hopefully my case is fine and can be repaired. Anybody else ever have issues like this? Thanks guys.

Hello,
I am going to link a video to an ATV I'm working on. Before I dug in to it, I thought it was the u joints. When I hold the end going into the differential, the u joint is tight and has no play. This machine has 5,500 miles. Is this normal? is it something that should be fixed? If so, how? a new differential?
