2006 Outlaw 500 cam chain?

I noticed my Outlaw is making a ticking kind of noise when i'm at idle and just give it a little gas...as it returns to idle, I can here a clicking/ticking noise on the cam chain side. I took off the valve cover and the chain tensioner and pulled the chain off the intake sprocket and pulled it tight. The manual says that within spec is 5.407 inches across 20 pitches of the chain. I believe 20 pitches is the same as 10 links?? I measure about 5.0.

I feel so convinced that the noise I hear is the chain slapping the front of the case (guide). Will it do this even if my above measurements are still within the tolerance listed? am I chasing something I shouldn't be and need to look elsewhere?

1995 Polaris 400L 2×4

I'm new to the forum, as well as a Polaris ATV.
I just picked up a Polaris 1995 400L 2X4, and I'm just looking for a place to get further info on specs and such, and what it was made for. It is a two stroke with variable speed. Was it designed to work around the farm and at the same time have a little speed.
I did find the owners, and maintenance manuals, just interested in what the best use of this machine would be. When I was looking at it online I saw a two stroke 400, and thought it would be really fast. But with the variable speed, and high, low and reverse gear, I 'm thinking it is more of a work machine.
Any sites you can send me to, or anything you can tell me would be great.

2008 Polaris ecu question

My sportsman 500 ho was running fine and then it died and started smoking out of the front ..the plug and ecu are fried. Would the ecu off a 2006-2007 work on my 2008 I only ask because of the price difference any suggestions

Hello everybody,
Im new to all this and wanting to introduce myself. My name is patrick from spalding county, GA. Never been on a forum before but from the looks of it theirs alot of info on here. I have a brand new 2018 Polaris Sportsman 450 HO in Velocity Blue. Cant Wait to do some upgrades and hit the trails. Any feedback from people that have this model already will be helpful.

2004 Sportsman 400 No Start

Initial Issue:
after an electronic start I had a high pitch sound. A noise I had never heard before. I was in the field and I immediately trailered the ATV. After reading advice from this forum, I replaced the battery(needed replacing), and cleaned the connections to the solenoid. I still had a no electronic start, but it would pull start. After the pull start, there was no high pitch noise, just the normal purring sounds of a 14 year old machine.. I replaced the solenoid with a cheap $12 replacement. It worked and I thought the problem was resolved until..... About 20 starts!

Issue Reappearance:
I started the ATV this weekend and the noise had reappeared. I was again out in the field but I shut turned off the ATV. After that it would not electronic start. I can pull start and jump the solenoid and the engine purrs... Still have good voltage from the battery.

My questions..
1) Based on this info has my solenoid failed again? If so, are there recommendations for this part that I can purchase that will last longer than 20 starts?
2) Am I barking up the wrong tree? Could it be the ignition or something else?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Starting problem

I have a 2013 Polaris scrambler do ho. I replaced the starter, starter relay, and battery and when I turn the key all the lights and turn on like normal, then I turn the key to start the four wheeler and all I get is one click and the lights turn off for a second and come back on. Any ideas?
