2000 Polaris Explorer 250 electrical problems

Hello,
I have a 2000 polaris explorer 250 2 stroke. The lights and starter went dead and a clicking clicking sound started coming from the circuit breaker that has a rubber boot covering it to the left of the solenoid. It clicks intermittently while the light comes off and on now and then. I checked all of the wires and put in a new battery and key ignition, plus left handlebar switch for lights and starter, plus a new relay and it is still the same. I noticed that the key ignition was heating where it plugs in.I checked the plug too and it is O.K..The entire wiring harness looks fine I went over every bit of it.It still clicks the same.I don't think I will ever be able to fix it.I already have massive hours into it and alot of money. But it still starts with the pullstart and runs good. I am not sure if the fan works. Probably not but I donot know.

Vin #

I was told the expedition 425 I just purchased was a 2002. So I bought the manual online for a 2002. After I got the manual and did a little research I think it’s actually a 2000 someone on here informed me and the book says 10th digit of Vin is the model year. My 10th digit is a Y. Would this be a 2000 or 2002? If so I have the wrong size wheels on here also

Trade a 2014 sportsman 570 for a 2012 sportsman 500HO?

I’m not too confident in t he reliability of my 570 after having efi problems the first real trip I decided to take with it. I’ve been looking for a carbureted bike recently and I’ve come across a 2012 sportsman 500HO that the owner is willing to trade for mine.

The 500HO is in better shape and has 800 less km then mine. Mine is efi and I know it has more power but I’m more confident in the reliabaility of carbureted engines.

Is there anything I should look out for on these 2012 sportsman 500HO’s? I will be going to see it this weekend and we will be swapping quads for a ride to test each others out.

If anyone has any good/bad points about these 2012 500HO’s please let me know

02 Quest 650 XT What to Look For

Hi,

I'm looking at buying an '02 Quest XT. It shifts out of low fine, which I heard was something to look at. It has 4000 miles on it.

Are there any other things I should look for? It will spend a lot of time pushing snow.

Thanks.

Electrical Issues

New to the forum appreciate any help I can get. I have 2015 model and replaced the old battery as it wouldn’t charge. Hooked up new battery but not getting any power to the ignition or anywhere. Checked the fuse box with a test light and have Power there on come connectors but not all. Put a new ignition switch in but still not getting power. All cables look good. Am going to replace all fuses but didn’t know if anyone could make a suggestion. I’m at a loss. Looking at replacing the kill switch next. Thanks in advance.

2017 570 sp lifts?

Hey guys, winters settling in here so I figure now is a good time to start modifying the 570. Picked it up this fall, 2017 570 sp so far I'm in love with the bike. Few short falls in my opinion, the suspension flex's and rides beautifully, never been on such a nice riding quad. That being said it's too soft for me and my girlfriend to be riding together, we bottom out all the time and it's already on the stiffest setting, were not heavy people, between the 2 of us there's maybe 320 lbs on the bike. I bought some spring stiffeners for plowing, Im ganna try putting those in the rear instead to see what that does before I jump the gun on lifts and such. The thing is I love the articulation and give this suspension has, I don't want to take away from that. Has anyone on here with a similar quad gone with a lift and how did your axles hold up? I see lots of reviews on the 570, but nothing for the sp. I'm also thinking of going to a bigger tire in the spring, nothing stupid, maybe a 27 or 28, I don't wanna burn out the bike prematurely. Would you recommend a clutch kit for this?

Thanks guys!

01 Traxter Front End Grinding

So after installing a new cv joint on the right side and just now changing out the lock ring to keep it in the differential, on takeoff, the passenger side wheel with spin significantly faster than the other, and make a horrible grinding noise. It goes alright with light input of the throttle, but when under load, it veers to one side drastically. I assume it could be something wrong with the differential gears stripped out or the splines on the other axle are shredded, but if its spinning, I assume that isn't what is bad. However, I haven't checked that other side. What are some signs of a failed differential I should look out for?
