Hello all, I’m new to the forum and need some advice. I’m looking to get a new 850 XT and hessiant to pull the trigger. I’ve previously owned a 07 Sportsman 700 & 08 Grizzly 700. Both great....the Grizzly was bullit proof! NOTHING bad to say. I just picked up an 2018 Defender HD8. Haven’t had enough time behind the wheel to make a fair assessment. The only thing I’ve noticed is “slop” or a delay from the time you push down on the accelerator to when the wheels begin to turn. The CVT in both my Polaris and Yamaha didn’t have this issue. Not sure if that’s just how they’re built or what......any who, if anybody has any input on my decision to get or not to get the 850, please chime in. Thanks!!
Low Beam Lights loose Sptsm 500
I've notice this on several Sportsmen; the Low Beam Lights sit loose in the front plastics; so if you push inward on the light lens, the lens housing falls out of the grill into the front wheel; thought this was odd the first time I saw this but; have it on mine too; haven't had a chance to investigate in depth yet.
Are all Polarises like that? why so temperamental; and how to fix? or am I missing some parts? Suggestions appreciated.

Night Lite Idea’s
i sometimes ride at night with a small group, i had a led whip that give me trouble since i bought it and finally quit.
sometimes the yeahaw followers aren't paying attention and ive been bumped, would like some ideas on led lites that arent blinding but makes
the atv more visible to the riders behind me, dont want another whip but maybe some accent lites at the rear, suggestions on lites or some links that u may have experience with, not high maintenance please.

Well, motor blew in 16’ 850
2286 miles( pretty much all asphalt road miles btw) and 131 hours i changed the oil every 50 hours after the first 25 hour break in period oil change and blew the motor up not even 1/4 mile down the road from my house. I do Still have warranty left on the bike and dealer seems to think Polaris won’t warranty it. Taking it in Monday and seeing how this goes. Fingers crossed.
Outlander max 1000
Im running 27" bighorns on trails and 28" mayhems in mud..... I put 27"s on from new ,,,as they run 26" from factory im losing some bottom end ingagment (correct)?.. will it be a considerable amout that i would notice it,,, i notice that the 28"s make it sluggish to the 27"..... would i benefit from changing the weights and springs to the factory clutches? Or would i be pi22ing my money away.... iv seen alot that have went for full cluches is this the step i need to be looking at?
Would appreciate all addvice.

New member, new problem
Hey Folks,
New member here in New Hope, PA. We bought a 2002 Sportsman 90 for our boys to put away for xmas. Looks like new, and ran like new when I checked it out. Have been taking it out and running it as the weather here has been going from the 60's to the 30's depending on the day. The plan was to check out starting and running reliability in a broad spectrum of temps, which WAS going extremely well.
After a dozen or so 10-15 minute runs, after warming it up for 10 minutes, it's suddenly cutting out. Starts and idles fine. Lets me accelerate to top speed even, but randomly (within a minute or two after warm up) cuts out. Hit the button and it starts right up, but again will die in a minute or so. I'm totally new to this world and found the service manual online, but where to start? Thanks in advance!

replacement wheel help (1999 500)
I want to get new wheels and new tires to refresh this ride.
I think I need:
10x8 - 3+5 Offset - 4/156
OEM Part # and Description is:
1520217-067 RIM,REAR,(8.5X10)
I know for certain that 4/156 is correct, but I am not sure about offset.
Tire size is 25x11-10.
Anyone know more than me?
Front rims are 12" and easy to locate, the 10" not so much.
