New guy from Massachusetts

So I just traded my 1989 Quadzilla LT500R that I paid $2,300 for 2016 Scrambler 1000 XP with 167 miles on it. Traded even for it. Previous owner hydrolocked it and then supposedly seized it. Good news it’s it’s not seized. It wouldn’t turn over because it needed a starter but I think he bent a valve or something. Runs and drives but very underpowered and only 90PSI per cylinder tells me something is wrong inside... either way a win for me

early and late 14

from doing some reading I read that there is a early and late 2014 XP 850. Someone said that they sent in there ecu to be reprogramed and it couldnt be done. Is there any way of telling if I have the EC17 ECU without pulling all the plastic of the front?

Throttle Body help!! Spit’n and spudderjng

Hey I pretty new here, I'm a new can am rider and not use to them, still learning, but I put a bigger throttle body on my bike. 08' 840, it's a 54mm stock is 46mm but I put it in and plugged the sensors back up and it sputters at 3k rpm. Think it is a sensor problem or air to gas ratio?

Damn water holes

Hello guys and gal. So I just picked up a new 2018 570 x2. Used it hunting and put 60km on it during that hunt. Today I went out and ended up going into a waterhole and sunk the bike up to the seat. Engine was running and I got stuck in the hole then the engine died. I got it out and towed back home.
Pulled the plug and shot a water out. Checked the oil and it looks brand new. Now the plug was still giving some spark but it doesn’t look that great. So I’m thinking a new plug and change the oil. Do I need to do the tranny and both diffs as well??? Air box was dry, and I’m pretty sure that the water came into the engine through the exhaust.
What should I do ?
Thanks guys for the help

Scrambler 1000xp

I just picked up a 2016 1000xp with 167 miles on it. Traded a 89 quadzilla even for it. So far $2,300 into this scrambler.

The previous owner swamped it and it was hydrolocked. What he told me was he towed it back to his house drained it and changed the oil 4 times total and had it running “good” then it seized up.... I got it home and pulled the starter and turned the flywheel and it’s Not seized. Starter wasn’t engaging so I put a new starter in and it started and stalled and wouldn’t stay running. Changed the plugs and turned it over for a while with fuel pump unplugged and plugs out. Put the plugs back in and it started and idled fine but high (1250 rpms) let it idle for 30 minutes or so and then took it across the lawn and seems very under powered. Compression test is 90PSI both cylinders. Thoughts?
Bent valves? Jumped time?
Previous owner never disassembled anything on the motor..
