How To Choose an ATV Helmet

With so many options available, figuring out how to choose an ATV helmet can be tricky. Fortunately, we’ve got some thoughts to help you decide on the right ATV helmet for you.

Whether you call it a skid lid, a brain bucket or a hard hat, an ATV helmet is one of the most important pieces of safety gear you should own. The only thing that should come before it is common sense, which would tell you to wear a helmet. If you want to know how to choose an ATV helmet, is really pretty easy as long as you know the basics of what to look for.

Glacier snow plow question

At the risk of asking a dumb question - does the blade rest on the ground? Or are the skid shoes supposed to rest on the ground?

I will only be plowing my driveway.

1000xt Questions

I just picked up a 1000 XT it is completely stock. I like the bike but ground clearance sucks and with me ( 280lbs) and my 14 year old son on the back it bottoms out. So I did some research and decided to go with 2" shock spacers in the rear and 1 1/2" in the front. The bike now sits 2" higher and seems to ride just fine. I am now worried about the angle of the axles ( will this cause problems?). So currently it has 26" Big Horns on it and I want to up grade to 28" Mudzillas. I have been reading that I will need to put a clutch kit in with the bigger tires. If a 570 can run 28" Mudzillas why can my 1000 that has loads of power handle them?

Winter coming

Time to install the snowplow. I set mine up with rear tire chains and add 200 lbs. on the back racks. Dose anybody have a better system? I just don't see a way to add tire chains to the front seeing the tie rods are too close to the tires? Maybe some kind of front wheel spacers?

grinding in rear diff

anyone have this issue ! grinding in diff like the gears are not meshed properly. took linkage off and moved it manually but it still made the noise sometimes. sometimes will not go into gear, sometimes it will. indicator lights show in 4 x 4 but its not. noticed it when pulling my boat in 4 x 4, when letting off throttle going downhill, makes the grinding noise so I assume the gears are not fully engaged. its an 2008 800 max outlander EFI h.o. with less than 2000 kms. Any help would be appreciated. is this a dealer job or what. Not many dealers in the Muskoka region I'm in
