Hey all, I recently acquired a 2012 Outlander Max Unlimited 800R. A little
Background on the machine 718 miles, dealer serviced at 400miles. I called to verify, I also get my motorcycle serviced at the same dealer so I trust them.
The rear cylinder seems to be dead at times. At idle it is erratic. Every so often you can hear the cylinder fire and the exhaust pitch changes. The exhaust pipe on that cylinder is also warm to the touch after 10 minutes of idling.
I first started with verifying fuel pressure
KOEO= 51psi prime. Drops to 49psi
KOER= 51psi running.
I pulled the plug wire and put a spare plug into verify spark. Checks out
Engine sound does not change. I ran out of time to change the plug in the machine. I will do that tomorrow or next day.
Disconnected the fuel line to the injector. Connector was dirty. Maybe enough to get into the injector and clog the nozzle.
Disconnected the injector electric plug, bike went into limp mode. No engine pitch change. So we have power there.
Fuel tank is nice and clean.
Exhaust is free of obstructions
I know I should change the spark plug on that cylinder.
Should I look to the injector as the fault??
