2018 Can-Am Maverick Trail 1000 DPS vs. Polaris RZR 900 EPS

When BRP unveiled the 2018 Can-Am Maverick Trail 1000 DPS, it was built to go up against another 50-inch Sport Side-by-Side – the Polaris RZR 900 EPS.

Side-by-Sides have proven to be an amazing platform for exploring the wild, and doing so with a big smile on your face. It is made all the better by being able to share that fun with a passenger. As machines got bigger, the fun factor went higher and higher. There was a problem, however, that put a damper on things. Many ATV trails across North American were limited to machines that met the measurements of the standard ATV – 50 inches.

Most of the top performance Side-by-Sides started out around 60 inches and went up from there. Polaris, however developed its RZR lineup to include a 50-inch wide machine that was big on fun and narrow on width. Arctic Cat followed suit, and folks wondered if Can-Am would ever go that route, especially knowing how much performance they were packing into the Maverick X3 lineup. The wait is now over, as the 2018 Can-Am Maverick Trail 1000 DPS is here and ready to hit the trails. Let’s see how it stacks up against the 2018 Polaris RZR 900 EPS…by the numbers.

Made the change

Well my friends I am selling my Sportsman 850 Touring. Love the machine but nothing beats a SxS for all day comfort. So I picked up this orange beauty Saturday up in Gorham NH and love it. 1000s 100 HP is sweet. I will still be around because this is a great forum.

Sportsman 850 SP grease bushings?

I have a mini grease gun that I can easily do the rear bushings, and the lower front's without any trouble.

The upper fronts though, are really hard. The nipples(giggity) are on the back of the bushings, facing completely inward. Without removing the winch and moving the radiator and coming in from the front, how the heck do you get to them to grease them?

Really not sure why they did it this way. So many cool design elements on this quad to make things simple and easy, and then they go and bury the grease nipples in the hardest to reach place when they could have easily had them face outward like all the rest...

Maverick over heating

2014 maverick overheating after just cruising down the road water in radiator is full and fan is working no mud on radiator any other reason why it would do this

2014 maverick 4×4 not working

Just got an used maverick but when switching it into 4x4 no symbol comes on or front wheels dont turn. When I cut just the key on and put it in 4x4 I hear the actuator i guess moving to engage

1996 Sportsman 500 rim issues

Is there a way to match up the rims , front are 12" and rear are 10". Looking to figure out the easiest way to make them both 12". From reading here I see the front and back have different bolt patterns, if so can I get a adapter or something to make the same? Thanks for the info...

Tire Size

I'm riding an 2011 sportsman 500 HO. It's time to upgrade the tires. How large can I go with out other mods to accommodate, like a clutch kit ect ect
I was thinking 27" Mud lites,

I know this has been beat to death but I can?t find an answer in search, I have a 99 sportsman 500 4x4 with EBS. The drive belt is shredded.....I am planning on going back with a Dayco HPX belt, but I?m unsure which one is correct...some sites say HPX 2203 and some say HPX 2204. Can anyone verify???
