New Minnesota owner

Hello all. Long time rider here. Coming from Polaris, Yamaha, and a Honda trx 250r. Finally decided to spend the money and buy my dream mud monster. I picked up a 2017 Renegade 1000 XMR last week. Looking forward to learning as much as possible from you guys. Ride on!

Front end Noise

Afternoon fellow ATVers. Leland here. As some of you might know I now live in Mexico and we use our 2017 Outland 1000 Max for a street machine. ATVs are street legal here. Today my wife and I took it on a 15 to 25 km run. Temps here have been about 95 or so degrees. Stop and go traffic a bit and a good stretch of 65km/h. We noticed sort of a howling sound from the from end. No 4 wheel drive activated. The machine has about 350 km on it now and 23 engine hours. No leaks when parked. No engine over heat and no warnings on the digital display.
Any thought what it might be? and should it be something that I should worry about or is this normal. This is our first ATV so I'm never sure what to expect.
Thanks for any advice.
Leland

Best aftermarket tie rods

Who makes the toughest aftermarket tie rods? Had a bit of a tough day on my 17 XMR 850 today and managed to bust two of them and an axle. Oooops.

Looking to replace them with the best to keep it from happening again.

Street Legal is Spreading in Colorado

I learned another southern Colorado county and community have "legalized" ATV and UTV riding on public roads and community streets. This will help local businesses as the area is close to Silverton, which is a big ATV town here in Colorado. Here is the county ordinance that made it legal, and here is the town posting stating it is legal.

Consider Hinsdale County and Lake City for your next Can Am ATV adventure vacation.

I hope more counties in Colorado see the light. The scenic mountain counties have street legal dirt bikes, Jeeps, SUVs driving low maintenance roads all the time. Why not the ATVs and UTVs too? The rural eastern Colorado counties could have a similar ordinance and legalize all the ranchers who use their machines in their operations. I doubt seriously that the world will come to an end because another Colorado county sees benefits in attracting ATV riders to their local roads and trails.

Ops, the County Ordinance file is too big to upload. You can find it in Hinsdale County Ordinances Records

Less Dust Brake Pads ??

Any advise please?
I get heavy red dust on my Alum wheels on '14 sportsman 550. I ride on the beach and the red brake dust is extreme.
Are there any replacement brake pads you think that won't have this red dust?? I ride easy with no extreme riding. But water from rivers and salt/sand on the beach is daily.
Thanks for any ideas

2013 outlaw 50 want start

My son's Polaris Outlaw 50 won't start. Here are my symptoms, and what I've done so far:
- It was difficult to start before I dove in, and seemed to idle too low, resulting in frequent restarts. So, in an attempt to fix the problem...
- I pulled, disassembled, and cleaned the carburetor. No signs of any dirt or varnish inside.
- I reassembled (hopefully correctly--I had the shop manual) and reinstalled the carb.
- When the spark plug is laid on the cylinder head, I am seeing a spark. The plug looks normal, and is dry.
- Fuel is getting into the float bowl. When I open the float bowl drain, fuel drains out.
- There appears to be vacuum and compression. Holding my hand over the carburetor intake, or exhaust pipe, I can feel suction/pressure pulses when I crank the engine.
- Starting fluid (either through the spark plug hole with the plug removed, or into the carburetor's intake) has no impact, as far as getting it to fire.
- The slide and needle are operating properly. I can look down the throat, and see the slide move. I pulled the slide assembly out, and the needle is firmly attached to the slide.

I'm surprised with all this cranking (and applying various levels of throttle) that the spark plug appears to be dry. I'd expect to see the engine flooded. Can anyone suggest anything else I should look at to get this mini-beast running again? Thanks.
