Ive got 2

New here but not new to building and moding bikes. I have had a few over the years. Currently own 2 Polaris quads. Picked up the 1st one a month ago. 95 Magnum 425 4x4. Paid $300. Had to fix a few things. Still need to fix a few things. Had to replace a rear tire. It was stuck in low gear. It had no brakes. It had sat for almost 2 years. Put in a new battery and fresh gas and it lit rite off. Still needs new chains and new brake lines. As well as some electrical work. But the 4WD works. Needs a new set of bearings and a cv on the left front.
Second one I just got on Tuesday. 97 Explorer 300. $800. Was flooded worse than Ive ever seen one. Had a loose rear hub. Had the rear wheels on backwards. Just welded up all the cracks in the wheel around the lug holes where they put it on and cranked it down. Needs new chaims as well as rear sprockets. But it runs good and everything works but the 4wd. Has a busted wire at the strut hub. Easy fix. It also needs a left front cv. I will be trying to make these into reliable rigs for my Dad and I as he is disabled and cant get around to well anymore. Good way to get him outside and doing stuff again. His depression is like a cloud around him.

Polaris Sportsman 500 1998 Oil change & Maintenance

Hello!
New to this forum, all the way from Sweden.

I've recently picked up a used Polaris Sportsman (in Sweden called 'Worker') 500 1998.
I'm about to do an complete oil change & some minor restoration to it and i have a little problem with what oils to use everywhere.
Last week i ran into my local Polaris dealer and bought the "Demand Drive Fluid" (as i'm having a bit off an issue with the front hubs not releasing the 4wd) for the front hubs and was about to buy all the other oils as well, but they kinda scared me off with the prices.
So my thoughts now is what oil (brand & specs) i can buy instead?
As i've read online believe any fully synthetic 5w/40 will do for the engine, but what oils should i buy for the transmission, differentials & gear lever box?

And are there any more filters except the oil filter that should be changed?

Help appreciated from a cold & rainy autumn Sweden.

Edit: Posted in wrong section..

How many times stranded?

I know I will get some heat for this but right now I don't care. My question is how many times has your polaris stranded you? The first time it happened it was no big deal, starter went out in my garage, was able to winch it on my trailer. Second time not so lucky, was out trail riding and machine backfired and quit, was able to get it to a main road. Rode my fathers machine back to the truck+trailer and hauled it out. 2013 Sportsman 500,3100miles I only use good gas and change spark plug and fuel filter every year.
Ruined the entire trip, not a happy camper right now, Polaris is the best riding machine I have ridden but I am considering getting rid of it and getting some thing more reliable.
Any thoughts on this?

Polaris Sportsman 600 whining noise?

I'm looking at buying a used Sportsman 600 (not certain the year)
the gentleman who has it for sale said it makes a whining noise from the shaft in the back. he didn't know much more than that

sounds like a prop shaft bearing to me but i wanted to see if anyone has any more advice. is there a common bearing that goes out? i don't know hours on the machine

thanks

SIRIUS PRO Curved and Single row now available!

Why buy SIRIUS PRO? Pretty simple. It will shine brighter and farther for a MUCH longer time.

Cheap Chinese Bars
Cheap light bars might be great at first, but the internal LED's are cheap for a reason and will most will quickly degrade in cold and hot weather which compromises both their performance and light span.

So riders may save money at first, but spend more in the end with great frustration when the lights blow out.

SIRIUS PRO
SIRIUS PRO lights are made in partnership with Aurora Manufacturing -- one of the top lights manufacturers in the world. Quality and performance matches (and exceeds RIGID at time) in many ways, but at 1/2 the cost. The internal LED chips are premium for superior performance.

Plus, all lights come standard with anti-theft bolts and premium waterproof wiring harness.

Hi from Rockland County NY!

Hi folks, a few months ago I picked up a sportsman 570 utility edition, and I am loving it so far! Here's a little vid of me riding it. Not a ton of places around me to ride unfortunately, but at least one or two good trails and I'll mostly just be taking the quad up to the lake to fish, and to plow my driveway! https://youtu.be/vdBBacGkPEQ

Newbie here

Hello new to me Can-am 2007 outlander 800 max. Super low miles in great shape. Just wanted to say hello to everyone.

renegade xmr back rack

hello everyone! im new here and have a 2016 renegade xmr 1000. i want to get a back rack for it but it seems like the few that are made for the renegades say they are not for the 2016 model. is that true or is there some modifying?

335 or 400?

Hey how's it going everybody I'm new to the ATV world and I just purchased my first ATV the guy I bought it from said it was a 2001 sportsman 400 when I got home and looked at the ownership it said 2000 sportsman 335 so I've been doing some googling and it looks like it is a 335 which is OK for me I don't care but now that I figured he lied to me about that I want to do all the oil changes and stuff even though he said he did it just to be sure! But I want to make sure the atv is what it is.

It's been ridden hard but runs good other then the heat sheild rattling

2012 SPORTSMAN 550 LE EPS fix

After searching for a replacement eps relay all over the US discovered Polaris wants you to replace your defective 4 pin automotive type relay SONG CHAUN 871-1A-S-R1 12VDC 35A with their eps repair relay kit 2204853 for anywhere from $40 to $53 which consist of a 6 in wiring harness with the above relay plugged into it. This is a single pole normally open 4 pin relay which simply provides 12vdc to the eps steering assist unit If yours is as damp and corroded as mine was yours probably is not operating to provide the 12v to the eps.
After removing the front and left fender i finally found the relay and plug taped to the frame next to the fuel inlet You may want to just clean and apply dielectric grease and test or if you want or need to replace go to NAPA auto parts and ask for part # AR6665 multi purpose relay (used on Ford fuel pump)$18.99
Thanks to NAPA guy Brian at Vestavia Hills, Al store!
