Looking at new outlanders need help

2016 850xt & 570xt or 2017 650dps & 570dps difference in price of $36 a month
The 16 570 doesn't look like the L model which I like but the 17 does. The 17 I have them throwing in the 2 year warranty on one so far shooting for both lol. Thoughts and opinions please. How is fuel consumption on 650 vs 850 just normal trail crusing?

2017 850 xmr suspension

Hey new to the forum and Canam. I love the new ride. Also knew the ride was going to be rough through research. I don't think it's due to the fox shocks as much as it is the amount of pre load they put on the springs to maintain GC. I've swapped my rear springs out with XMr 650's which allowed me to lessen the preload and maintain 13" GC.

It did make the ride better but not as plush as I would like. Especially coming from a Polaris. I'm not looking to get into the you bought a mud bike what do you expect. I'll replace the suspension with elka stage 3 or something if need be but for now I'm playing around with the stock HPG.

Has anyone ran the spring spacer on the XMR and lowered the preload? I'm thinking with the spacer I will be able to run less preload but keep comparable GC and in hopes improve the ride

Any constructive feedback would be great. Thanks.

Need help with silent chain

I have an 87 trail boss 250 with a bad silent chain. My chain gas 60 pins and 11 plates. The part number for my exact chain is 3224038 however I cannot find any to buy. I have found part number 3233111 which is for 94 and up trial bosses. It's 60 pins and 11 plates. Will this chain work inside my transmission?

Need to turn ATV on trailer, use a jack?

I need to side load an ATV on a trailer from the rear. I've seen lots of videos of people doing it stupid ways, such as spinning the tires, brute forcing it, etc, not interested in that.

My idea is to use one of those jacks, lift it up and turn it. But I can't find a jack that has casters where all 4 wheels turn, or even a jack that has something larger than the tiny little wheels.

Anyone have any suggestions? I found a jack on Alibaba, but you have to order 10 :( and I can't find that jack anywhere else.

I could lift it up on to castors, but trying to minimize the amount of junk I need to carry and deal with.

Appreciate any ideas.

Sportsman 700 not shifting at idle

Can't get my sportsman 700 to shift gears while bike is running. Background, I have replaced both drive and driven clutch assemblies. I have replaced transmission input shaft, (old one bent and aluminum clutch assemblies blew apart while running wide open, sounded like a bomb going off, thank goodness the plastic cove is as tuff as it is). Also installed a new carburetor. I have played with idle RPM anywhere from 800 to 1200. The only way it shifts is when I stop the engine. Any suggestions? Thanks

570 Sportsman Burning Oil

Hey guys, looking for some idea's as to what could be my issue here. My wife's 2015 Sportsman 570 Sp is burning oil. It is going through about half a quart in 100 miles. I did an oil change and switched to Amsoil just to see how that reacted. Same thing happened. Half quart in 100 miles.

When I did the change there was no metal in the old oil or on the magnet for the drain plug that was visible to me. There has been no dirt ingestion that I can tell either. I keep the air filter clean or changed often. I wiped inside the intake with a paper towel just to check and it came out clean as could be. It does not smoke or smell ever that I have seen, but I hear the synthetic oils wont smell or smoke when being burnt.

I brought the bike home and am planning to tear into it to see what the problem is. I will start tonight by checking to see how the plug looks. I will also try and get a compression test done on it in the next few days.

The quad has 2000 miles on it. I had a valve adjustment done at 1500ish miles. I am not sure if something they did could have caused this or not. What do you guys think? Any ideas for what I should check. Looks like it will be about 600-700 to rebuild the top end. Hate to have to do it, but might be what is on my plate. Thanks in advance for any help.
