I've had my 17 sportsman 850 for 2 months now. I originally wanted a 2017 scrambler but there where no brand new ones available until 18. I ride with a lot of sport quads but like to throw it in the mud and others 4x4 activities. I often find myself blazing down trails at 50+ sending the big bi**h through the air off lil doubles and drifting corners. Although this is all fun and funny to see such a big and naturally tippy and not race ready bike do; I think i made a mistake and should have waited for the scrammy.. anyone else expirence somthing similar..? Anyone make any mods to improve handling, weight transfer Nd so on so you don't feel as if your sailing a boat down a trail racing your friends..?
Purchasing tires online
Anybody purchased tires from Ebay? Deals look good for name brand tires. Always the chance of getting counterfeit products. Any other retailer recommendations? Looking to put a new set on my stock 12" rims for my Sportsman 500 HO
KFI contactor on Warn Provantage 3000 winch
I bought my 570 Outy in the spring of 2015 for plowing and general yard work and have the stock Warn Provantage Winch. I didn't use it much until the winter plowing season. Gradually I had problems with the winch not operating… clicking noise that I figured was the contactor, and by the time I figured it out, the bike was out of warranty so I replaced it myself.
The Provantage 3000 parts manual lists part number 76429, but a Warn 62135 is what’s installed. The Provantage 3000 is the CanAm OEM and I was unable to get any clarity on-line. (Years ago there was a recall on the 8-post 62135 contactor, but mine is 4-post with the same number, so no free replacement.) I decided to go with the KFI replacement winch contactor (~$35) since it was half the price of a Warn 63073 contactor that is a substitute.
The KFI contactor fit the mounting holes and the posts were all located in the same locations as the Warn unit. One difference: On the Warn contactor I replaced, the green contactor wire went to the red switch wire and the black contactor wire went to the blue switch wire. On the KFI contactor, the black contactor wire goes to the red switch wire and the green contactor wire goes to the blue switch wire. I found the KFI bullet connectors are installed to properly connect the switch, even though the wire colors are reversed.
Of minor note, the contactor wire on the Warn unit was a heavier gauge and the Warn unit's case seemed to be better finished. But the proof is in the pudding and the Warn units have a well documented history of failure.

2016 Sportsman 450 overheating
Hello,
I have a practically brand new Sportsman 450 that keeps overheating. Doesn't even have 20 hours on it...Found out the problem is the fan is not kicking on like it should. I jumped the relay to make sure the fan actually worked and it did. Where is the temp sensor that tells fan when to kick on? Has anyone else had any problems like this?

Love that Mid range
When you pull that trigger and smile all the way thru mid range... into top end and smile some more it almost makes me forget all the, Hump shifting, Rattling driveline, quick wearing brakes, and vibrant 400...Its all worth it...haha...Can't imagine what those 800's and 1000's got going on...I just better not ride one cause I can't have one...Ride on...
