850 idle problem

Coming to a stop after a half hour of riding my polaris 850 just went put put and died. After restarting it did the same put put died. Let it cool off about 5 mins with fan on and it was better, then on the open trail running 30-40mph its just perfect. I dont know if i should check plugs and fuel filter or could it be electronic ECU type thing?

07 phoenix 200 problems

hey yall, i have a 2007 phoenix 200 that im having a couple of issues with. I have searched google but havent had any luck. First off, today it will not shift out of gear. it is in reverse currently, and will not go into N. I have rocked it back and forth, done everything i can think of. Its the same for every gear once you get it into that specified gear. Is it something with the clutch fork? It is an automatic. So maybe my terminology is off. lol. 2nd thing is anytime you run over a water thats around 5 inches deep, it dies and is a bear to start. shell spin over but just wont fire. let it sit a bit and it fires up and runs fine. been doing that for a while. to me it sounds as if its shorting out somewhere but when i pressure wash it off, i have it running and it doesnt shut off. could i maybe be sucking water somewhere onto/into something? Please help. Thanks.

1999 sportsman 500 Brake Problem

Bought this ATV had working rear brakes but no front. Front problem was due to parts missing from one of the calipers. I bought two used calipers and new pads all the way around. Calipers seems fine piston isn't rusted and slid in easy.

Replaced pads, no fluid going anywhere. I think I have narrowed it down to the front lever/master cylinder or the distribution block. Removed one of the lines from the block and nothing comes from it. I can pump the lever and no fluid, loosen the bolt holding the line still nothing. It will pump a small amount of air though. Cleaned it re assembled nothing.
Also can pump the rear brake lever with the line removed from the rear master cylinder no fluid, will pump air. Removed feed line from rear brake reservoir fluid runs out.

Not sure what to try next, don't really want to throw parts or money at it would like to know what to replace to fix it. Thought some experienced guys could commit on what is typically the problem.

Thanks in advance.

Fall is coming!

Was cleaning out the garage and hauling trash to the landfill. Noticed a burning smell! Pulled off the seat, saw a little smoke. Pulled off the side plastic and the CVT exhaust boot. Found a mouse nest in there! Time to pull the clutch cover and give it a good cleaning. Hope my story is a good reminder to those of us who keep there ATV outside most of the year.

Polaris sportsman 6×6 2008 – left front wheel moves when awd off

Hello i have a problem with my polaris, noticed when going in reverse that it pulls to one side. This also happened going forward on time it was almost impossible to steer.

jacked the atv up with all 6 tires in the air with the awd off and in h gear. When i turn the awd switch on all tires moves, when its off the left front wheel still moves. I have changed the oil and everything looks ok. Is this electrical or mechanical you think? Im guessing i need to order new clutch hub but im not sure and thats why im posting. Thank you very much!:grin

No start issue… Again.

Ok so I posted in the mechanical section a while back and got a few ideas but nothing great. Thought I would narrow it down and put it in the outlaw forums.

The link the the previous post is right here if you guys wanna read the whole thing.

The issue is no start. Cranks hard. Has spark, compression, and the timing is correct. I listed off everything I did/checked in the above post.

I am starting to believe the issue I have is electrical because when it tries to start it feels and sounds sort of like it is being cut off or shut down via the electrical system.

Where should I start to look for safety or kill switches that could cause this issue?

BTW, the neutral switch seems to be working correctly and so does the kill switch. Looking for other known areas that have switches/sensors that need to be checked.

Thanks in advance.

New Here

Hello to everyone.

I am relatively new to the ATV sport but have owned motorcycles, go carts and fast cars. I purchased a Sportsman 570 late last year but because of an unexpected illness have yet to make any good rides except in the neighborhood.

Thanks and see you all around

2 more questions

When you first start your bike, in my case, a 2008 Sportsman 500, is the clicking sound the starter?

#2- does the starter affect the fuel pump? I assume the fuel pump won't work if your starter is fried, is that correct?

Thanks in advance.
