Carb removal

While I'm on here, i have a shop manual (with poor photos) but just curious since talk is cheap.

I need to remove the carburetor from a 95 or 96 Magnum 425 in order to clean it. What's the trick to disconnecting the throttle and starter valve cables from the carburetor? It's a bit different than my Xplorer 300 which goes in from the top (at least the throttle cable).

I *think* the four screws that hold the top cover off the carb need to be removed. Mine are seized so I'm either going to have to either take a pair of small vice grips and unscrew them that way or grind the heads off with a Dremel tool and remove the remains that way. I sprayed them with some PB Blaster.

Once this cover is removed, I'm thinking the throttle cable should slip off a pulley or something since it goes in from the side.

For the starter valve, there is a black cover on the left hand size. If I remove this plate, is that what gains access to the end of the starter valve?

Would Razr wheels fit a Magnum 425?

I picked up a second Polaris ATV the other day from a co-worker, a 1995 or 96 Magnum 425. It hasn't ran in years. The side wall on one of the front tires is FUBARed from where it sat flat and won't hold air. I don't think I can put a tube in it.

Normally I don't buy used tires (for cars anyway) but these look like they are in good shape.

Most of the time people on CL want the same price for used tires as new ones. This seems fair for tires and wheels. They are supposably 1" narrower than what was suppose to come on it from the factory. I'm not sure what's on it right now.

Anybody know if Razr wheels use the same bolt pattern has the Magnum 4/156mm?

2015 scrambler 850

So I work at autozone, and I've recently picked up some atv oil VERY deeply discounted. It's Lucas motorcycle oil, 10w-30. Im just wondering if anyone else here has run this oil before or what they think about it. I picked up 12 quarts for around $.25 (not a typo) so I don't really care what I do with it. But if it's good oil for my wheeler then I've taken care of oil changes for the next few years.

2011 renegade 800 xxc

I lose dps and the code is P101. Is this a bad map sensor? If so why does it run fine but disable power steering?

Thanks in advance!

Anyone use Baja Designs headlight upgrade?

I'm planning a 200+ mile all night ride in the next month or so, and I'm looking for better lighting on an Outlander. I want to be able to run 50 mph on the straight sections without over driving the lighting. Stock lighting on our Outlander max doesn't have the reach needed. Has anyone used the Baja Designs headlight upgrade sold by Can Am? How well does it light up the trail? Will a charging system upgrade be needed with these LED lights and their relatively low amp draw?

If you have used another lighting set up that works well, lets hear about that as well.

Thanks.

860, cams, maverick heads

I've tried advanced searches and also scanning trough the 3 pages in the mrrpm section but can't find the thread where this setup was dyno'ed and the charts were posted. Anyone happen to know where it is now?

Suspension question for XTP owners

So what is the suspension like with the QS3 shocks on the Outlander XTP? The regular Outlander is too soft without the optional heavy duty springs. The XXC Outlander is too stiff with the Fox RC2s. Is the Outlander XTP "just right" in the middle? How would you describe the ride quality of your XTP on rocky terrain? Plush, vs firm, vs too firm? How much difference do the three adjustment choices make? Thanks.

Pinion bearing gone after 1200 KMs

Hey everyone with a 2017 xmr.
I've got a 650 and noticed while greasing the driveshaft last week that the pinion had some play in it. We took the diff out and opened it up to find that the pinion bearing is definitly gone and the pinion is worn already.
Most of the Kms on the machine are from trail riding and it hasn't been abused when in the mud.

Just a heads up to everyone that the build quality may be going downhill on these machines.
Now I've got to decide what needs to be changed and if i should do it myself.....FML
