Drive Belt – 2014 Sportsman Twin 850 HO

I am replacing the Drive Belt for the first time and am looking for suggestions on high-quality aftermarket parts versus buying OEM. Appreciate any thoughts or suggestions on the topic. Original part #3211160.

Drive belt failure appears to at least in part have been caused by a mouse moving in to the "exhaust" port leaving the clutch housing above the driven clutch. It was an incredible and dirty mess!

Sportsman 700 running too rich/lean?? Slight backfire

Hey yall. Id appreciate any help if yall could lead me in the right direction! Aquired a 2003 sportsman 700 that was not running. First things I did was put a brand new battery, voltage regulator, carb boot, air filter, fuel filter, new fuel lines, oil change/filter, spark plugs, and a new carb from amazon. So initially it fired right up and has run and idled since i got it running. Seems like it is running rich. I have fuel running out of the overflow on the bottom of the brand new carb. It pretty much idles fine and runs good but loss of power at low to 1/4 throttle. Once i open it up she does what she should. The more throttle i give the more fuel dumps out of the carb obviously. Seems like it may even be overflowing into the crankcase. Its probably run less than 5 minutes since oil change and the oil on the dipstick looks like it could have gas in it. Hard to smell it though. Where should I start first to get this thing running right? Ive got the original carb and everything with it also but had to break it off to get the choke slide out so I still have all the needles just cant use the carb itself but i have a brand new one. Only thing thats different between the carbs is theres 2 more air vents i know on the amazon carb. One on the front passenger side thats not there on the original and one on the top. Both with plugs. Does one need to open up with a vent line or both need to be capped off?? Another thing is she backfires on deceleration very mildly, not much of a backfire more like a puff that sounds lean but with all the fuel running out it has me skeptical. I have checked all the air and vents to make sure there are no restrictions and sprayed carb cleaner around the boot and everything else to make sure theres no cracks. Doesnt budge at all in idle when i spray carb cleaner. Oh and the most important thing I know yall are going to ask is has the ignition been changed and yes the original ducati system has been replaced. Im mechanically inclined just figuring out this machine and looking for some insight on what to check and start first. Thanks!

Worst Fears Happened

Purchased a new 2018 XP 1000 LE about 15 months ago. I’ve been a life long Honda fan but this machine was to sweet of a ride to pass up and just seemed to be the best of the best.
I’ve been worried about relatability since I purchased and did purchase the Polaris extended warranty.
Two weeks ago I head out hunting about 8 miles from camp. Have a successful hunt and when I go get the atv it won’t budge. Stuck in park. Get it to the Polaris dealer and the transmission has a defective part.
After a bunch of back and forth with Polaris they only agreed to replacing the faulty components and not the part. I’m really frustrated as I was already worried about reliability and now even more so.
Yes they are sweet sweet rides when they work but what good is it if you can’t trust them to get you to and fro. Furthermore if I sell it I have to disclose I have a rebuilt transmission.
Think twice before you end up in this situation. I’d much rather still have a Honda in my garage. Trying to decide if it’s worth filing small claims against them or just let it go. Don’t be me. Buy something else.

exaust pipe glowing red

hi everybody, last week i ride my sportsman 850 2018 at night, and i noticed the exaust pipe from the engine to the exaust are red.i want to know is this normal or the ecu setting is set to lean from factory.im living in canada and the temp outside was -22 celcius.i have set of track on the atv and 480 km and 68hrs on it.

2012 550 losing power

Totally random event, I’ll be on the unit plowing and sometimes while on the throttle the power bogs down and it acts like it’s starved of either fuel or air and as soon as I let off the throttle it goes away. Could happen 10 seconds apart or hours apart. Check engine light comes on as soon as it stutters then goes away as soon as you let off the throttle. Thoughts on where to start?
