Rear shock bushing wore out

On my 2017 Copper 1000, I took the rear shocks off to install some haeavy duty springs as the factory ones are to soft to carry my fat rear wiithout it riding too low.

When I removed them on one side, the top mount bushing is completely worn out:eek. The other side is fine. It is no longer under warranty so I will see if the dealer has one or can get a replacement bushing. Hopefully the new springs will help.:worried:

My brother picked up the springs at his local dealer so I can't tell you yet what they are other than they are supposed to be heavy duty ones for my 1000.

PIAA 6″ LED LIGHT (a review)

I have been looking for a new BRIGHT as possible LED light for a while now to fill my ATV needs for off shore ice fishing use. The need I was looking to fill was to light as far in front of me as possible to monitor the ice conditions when going out when dark or returning back in the dark. I did a internet search and came upon this sight Automatcentral.com - PIAA RF6 6000K 6" LED Driving Light Bar" and contacted Andrew and told him I wanted BRIGHT and LONG DISTANCE. Andrew assured me that he had just what I wanted, and agreed to send me a PIAA RF6 6000K 6" LED light for me to try at no charge with the agreement if it's the light that fills my need I'll post a review on it. I said "send it I'll try it" but it must be better than any LED light on the market.

I did receive the light we discussed shipped in a isolated protected shipping container and it was complete with multiple mounting bracket options, all hardware and allen wrenches, complete wire loom with inline fuse, pre-wired on/off switch and factory wire ends already installed for ease of installation. Also included was a complete illustrated instruction package with wire diagram.

It was my choice to use the angle side mount brackets and attach the light directly to the front ATV guard.

Here are a few pictures of just the stock ATV headlights, PIAA light, and with both ATV stock headlights and the PIAA light on.

This is a picture out in the street looking ahead 2 city blocks with stock ATV headlights and the PIAA LED on WOW!!!

It was my choice to use the self adhesive double stick tape included in kit to mount the control switch to the brake reservoir in a very handy spot.

This PIAA LED light was very easy to install, VERY BRIGHT WHITE LIGHT, and looks AWESUM on the front of my ATV. I believe by seeing this installed, test driving on the road it will no doubt give me the light output I was looking for.

Can't wait for old man winter to lock up Green Bay this winter!

New can am owner

Hello all! Recently purchased a 2017 outlander 850xmr. Got 2.5hrs on her so far and that thing is a beast! Did quite a bit of reading on here before making my purchase and look forward to tapping all the knowledge on this forum. Any tips or advice for a new can am owner is welcome and eagerly awaited. :th_smiliethumbsup:

1000 dissapointment

Hey all! Have a 2017 1000r xmr and have to say, kinda dissapointed I spent the extra money on the 1000. Have 2 other buddies with stock 650 and 800 outlanders and they are exact same speed. Have raced them in 2wd and 4wd high and low multiple times and they are all even throughout the race. The 1000 may pull a little bit after 45, but barely. Just want to get everyone's thoughts on this. Was buying the 1000 with the extra money??

Outlaw 525 starting problems

My outlaw 525 had a starter problem where i could hear the starter spinning but it wasnt turning the engine over. I took the clutch cover off to see it and the starter is spinning the big gear behind the clutch and it is spinning the gear on the crankshaft, but the engine is still not turning over. I can turn the engine over via the crankshaft nut on the other aide of the motor though, amd it will spin the whole crank. I do not know what is up with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How have the frames, diff cover, ADC, bearings, bushings and heat issues been on the 2017s?

While the forums are full of threads on these and other issues, I have not really seen a lot of threads with these issues on the 17s....are they better?

I just did a test ride on a 2017 XP1000 and there is simply not another atv I have ever been on that compares. I really tried to like the 570 touring (the reason I went to the dealership today) sitting next to it but the seat is nowhere near as comfortable and the floorboards are about 1/2 the size.

The power is insane yet with the 3 mode throttle you can turn it down for steep technical crawling around.

How are you 2017 owners liking you XP1000s? Which version (standard or LE) do you prefer?

09 sportsman 500ho idles great bogs

It idles great but when you give it throttle it dies I've tried all I can think of and Im going insane and now to make things better there's oil and smoke coming from the exuast manifold

Newbee

Hello,My name is Tom and I am a young 76 (hopefully). I just purchased a 2017 CAN-AM Outlander 650 MAX and am looking forward to using. I enjoy fishing also through the ice and hunting. I purchased a 2up so that I can take a buddy (or my wife) with me.
I retired from a insurance company and held the position of Facility Manager and then went on to work at a small college holding the position of Director of Physical Plant.
There I am in a nutshell. Looking forward to reviewing some of your posts and learning as I go. I will join in when I think I know something that will help.
Take care and hope your rides will be as enjoying as I am sure mine will be.
Tom
