Threads…And Generations of vehicles

Hey All,
New around here but had a suggestion. On most forums I am on, when you view a thread the forum remembers I read the thread, and then when it is updated and I go to read it again, it starts me at my last viewed one. This forum just puts me right back at post #1. Maybe I am doing something wrong, but it's a bit annoying and hard to remember what I've read and haven't sometimes. I would love to figure out a solution if there is one.

Also, lets get real about how the vehicles are displayed. There is not much at all in common with a 2002 sportsman and a 2019. In most forums there is like a "1st gen" "2nd gen" etc... category for it. So how about that gets cleaned up into a "1990-2000 sportsmans " "2001-2010" or whatever makes sense based off large changes in the platforms. Would make things a lot easier for new guys to find stuff and keep the site much better organized.

Anyways, just your typical new guy knowing better than someone who has been on the job for years:devil

2016 and 2018 models

I have a 2018 570 max dps and found a pdf for a service Manuel for the 2016 models.
Before get this thing printed so I have a hard copy can anyone tell what are if any differences between the 2 years.
Or should I get a 2018 Manuel instead?

Rear diff wash/flush advice after axle popping out

During a beautiful smooth ride this past saturday, my right axle popped out from my rear diff. Why .........I have no clue I was smooth sailing in beautiful trails as smooth as a highway. Lucky I wasn't flying !!
The bike was a bit awckward but only noticed when I got home. The tip that goes into the diff was slightly rubbing against the diff's hole while turning so it was slightly "shaved" and it made some very very fine parlicles in the oil. I flushed it and since I had no diff oil available (stores closed) I took all the oil (motor, 75W90 front diff oil) that I had to fill it, TURNED IT BY HAND and flushed it to "clean it". I did that 3-4 times. Finally I filled with some Royal Purple front diff oil left over ran it a bit on jack stands and put a very strong magnet against the drain plug and left it like that. I'm getting a new axle thursday and will assemble everything back, remove my magnet, flush it and will put 75W140 back in.

Before anybody answers, I did not run my ATV with the other oils. I just turned it by hand to "wash and grab as much little particles" possible then flush.

Anyody have some ideas from past experiences for washing/draining my diff ?
Why would it pop out ?

Thanks for your help

New Carb

Hello all, I'm working on the neighbor's 03 Trail Blazer 250. Took the carb off and apparently the last person to work on it used permatex for the gasket. Inside of it is full of crap, and scratched up somehow. My question though is there a decent aftermarket replacement carb? I see they have stopped making the original one now. I'm guessing a Mikuni will fit just not sure how to pick the correct one.

Thanks.

Street legal in NY

I have a 2017 renegade 1000 xxc and lately the police have been giving me problems because i cross the street or ride on the street for a quarter mile to get from somewhere to another. I live on Long Island. I just think it’s unfair how a harley can go by a neighborhood at 3 am and wake everyone up and snowmobiles can also do whatever they want. I was just wondering if there’s a loophole to the whole atv street legalization thing in NY. Or if I could register it in another state (many friends who live across the US) where atvs are street legal and ride in NY. Thanks and have a good day.
