Hey Ya’ll!

Hey ya'll! I'm Missy from NC. Just picked up a '02 Sportsman 500 H.O. 4x4
I'm soooo excited about it, lookin forward to makin new friends on here and learning a lot!

Bad belt?

I was winching someone out while holding the throttle in reverse so I didn’t winch myself in instead. Was holding it just enough to keep the quad still but not spin the tires. There was a cloud of blue smoke and now it jerks when starting out but is smooth once I get going. From what I looked up I’m thinking it’s the belt that got messed up but want to get some more opinions before I start buying parts. Haven’t had time to pull anything apart yet. Quad is a 2016 sportsman 850

06 polaris sportsman 700 EFI

Keep getting code 45, have new tbap sensor and upgraded harness. New intake hose to the airbox. I guess I will have to ohm out the wires from the tbap to the computer for a short. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

radiator fan intermittent operation

On a ride saturday, got stuck (that's a whole other story), but as I'm working the bike it overheats on me, radiator fan won't come on. Gotta let it cool off. Same thing happened later on, get stuck, working the bike, engine temp light comes on no fan action. Shut it down let it cool crank it back up get back to riding.

Then oddly enough later on, just sitting there idling on a drink break, fan kicks on for a few minutes and cycles off. Does it again later in the day. In other words, resumes "normal" operation.

So, that tells me the fan circuit is working, but somewhere there's an intermittent issue. Any ideas where to focus my attention?

”true to size” aggressive rear tire brands

I have 2 new rear tire pairs, that are so far off sellers description/size that I cant use them, and is why I'm asking for advice, tired of throwing away needed cash and piling up unneeded tires!
Appreciate any advice you might have!
The tire tread I'm interested in, is something like wanda's to match my front tires, it's just that these tires are not true to width/height.
Needed mainly for sand, and a little road use.
Thanks, Steve

570 XMR Help!

Recently my Xmr is having a issue that has puzzled me it seems when I get in water about to the top of the tire or maybe a hair higher it won’t go above 2500/3500 Rpms it’s only when the front right side does it but lean to the left in a mud hole or thing of water or pop it up doesn’t hesitate a bit to be back at full power I have done some dielectric greas on main coil wire and both ends of the plug wires

It’s starting to get aggravating cause many of the trails we ride we have to hit them to make it across I’ve never had this issue till recently 2018 700 miles 135 ish hours

any help as to what to look at or try would be greatly appreciated
Thanks!

Check Engine

Back story....2014 polaris sportman 570 efi has been setting up fro atleast 6 to 8 months. Battery went dead so I put a new on and it didnt last a week before going bad. Put another new battery on and found where you could cycle the ignition a few times while holding the foot brake down to clear the engine light. Been using the bike for a week or so around the house and today I went out and the check engine light is on again. Pulled the code Error Code 0 and the SPN code (suspect Parameter Number) is 520207 with the FMI (Failure Mode Indicator) being 4. Looked it up on the owners manuel and it shows All Wheel Drive Control / Driver Circuit Short to B+. Thats the SPN but the FMI on the code sheet should shows 3 and my code is a 4.... Please help. The bike is completely stock.....

Oil pressure problem

Hey guys if you read my other posts I told you how I swapped my quad I have it up and running and the oil is clear again but now my check engine light is on and it says “oil pressure low please shut engine down” so I drained the oil again and took the brand new oil filer out and it was completely dry I’m kinda stumped on this one please help thank you

2015 sportsman 850 SP ignition wiring

My ATV was stolen and the police recovered it. I am amazed with the speed they recovered it. Anyways. They cut the ignition harness out and used a toggle switch for accessories and would bump two bare wires to the starter. Anyways, it appears to be 4 wires. When I ordered the new key ignition and harness, it was 6 wires. The wire color codes don’t match up. can someone send me a picture of the ignition and it will try to match up colors to the pin layout. I can’t find any info anywhere online. I can send pic, too late tonight, however. I talked to the Polaris dealership and they said theirs was 6 pin ignition.

Hello. I have been a Polaris owner for many years and am coming here seeking advice and knowledge. I look forward to the exchanges to come. The garage houses a 2001 500 HO, 2002 500 HO and a Ranger 900XP. I am trying to find some info on the 2001 right now so will be asking questions soon.
