1999 Scrambler 400

Hi folks,

Ok, so off the get go this hasn't had fuel in it for years, spraying a little either fired her up right from the get go. It has the 2 cycle tank in it and it does have oil in it but my question is how long can that oil stay good for, and 2 how would I know if it is pumping properly? I just don't wanna risk blowing the motor up because of impatience or stupidity. I figure once I get it running smoothly I will start taking things and changing them out like the motor oil. What other fluids are there on a 2 cycle that need to be changed?:wink

2005 800 twin crapping out

this quad starts and idles fine, but ( I haven't ridden it. I don't feel like pushing it back to the house. LOL) when I rev it a little it will act like it wants to die, but will settle back to an idle. Now, I wasn't aware that this quad was EFI. I haven't worked on any efi except a Gator. So, my initial thought are, weak fuel pump, clogged filter, dirty/bad/old gas gumming up the throttle body. I'm all ears if anyone's got any suggestions. :smile

1000 xmr outlander or 1000 xmr renegade

Hi Gents, I have a 1000 outlander xmr and I am looking to trade it in for a 1000 renegade xmr. I have never driven a renegade xmr and I was hoping I could get some insight from a few of you that may have made the switch....both the good and the bad of what to expect with the renegade. We do about a 50/50 split between trail and mud riding, how do the renegaded handle in the trails is a question that I really need answered because the xmr actually does a decent job for what it is, thanks again, Darren

Any Polaris deep parts connections?

2015 Sportsman 1000 Touring

ECU Part # 4012616

I have that part in hand. The Polaris parts lookup says it is correct but it is not. It has two completely different long connectors with far more terminals than mine. The ECM in my machine is a Bosch unit, has 2 small connectors and only uses one. The other one is vacant. Rather than tear my machine back down and get a picture, I have added links to pics off Ebay.

What you say fits: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Polaris-ECM...-/332285144947

What I have looks like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/11-18-POLAR...2/123612763068

I have tried to explain this to Polaris. They said that the part was correct and before I could even rebut they closed the case. There is no way in God's green earth that this part will fit my machine. The online merchant (front for a dealer) refuses to accept the return. I have never done a dispute on credit card, but I am about to unless someone has a suggestion.

I used to have a good connection with Polaris but he is no longer with the company. Any suggestions on who might actually give a damn at Polaris appreciated.

3/8 to 1/2

I bought some ITP mags for the front of my 6x6 about a month ago and am getting around to using them. When I opened the box the stud holed are 1/2'' and my studs are 3/8'' when I called the dealer I was told that the tapered lug nits would be fine to use. I'm wondering about this, if I could find a sleeve that would fill the void I would feel better. I have looked at the hardware store with no luck for pipe or something I could use.
thoughts? thanks
