First sxs.

New to the sxs. Just picked up a 2016 maverick 1000r. Been on atvs and dirt bikes for as long as I can remember and did the rock crawling thing for 5 years. Hoping to find out some good info and maybe get new ideals. Live in the Blackhills so lots of different terrain. Thanks for the add.

04 sportsman 600 fourwheel drive problems

New here and first posting. My 04 sportsman 600 twin had started giving me 4x4 problems. Just recently while plowing. Started by engaging slow mostly in reverse. Now in all gears. Have to rev rpms high to get to engage in high and hardly can get it to engage in reverse or low now. Machine has been great and given no problems until this just recently. Thanks in advance for any thoughts or ideas!

Idle problem

Hi all, I'm new here. Bought a 95 sportsman 400 4x4 last year. I rebuilt the carb last weekend and finally got it running again. My problem is I took it for a test ride (to end of street and back) and upon return the idle started to increase faster and faster to where it was full idle. I had to kill the engine by shutting off the kill switch, turn key off then hold throttle switch wide open to flood it. What do I need to look at to fix this problem. It didn't do this before i rebuilt the carb. Thanks for any help!

new guy from Canada

Hey everyone!

Long time lurker... this forum has already helped me fix quite a few things on my 2012 Sportsman 500 touring.

Figured it was time to create an account and say hi!

Questions for Can-Am Spyder users

Hi, Can Am Enthusiasts! I'm a grad student doing research on the behalf of Bombardier. I could really, really use your help, answering some quick questions about the overall Can-Am riding experience.:grin

1.) What do you personally like about the Can-Am riding experience?

2.) What is riding at night like? Do you like night touring? Positive experiences? Negative experiences?

3.) What are your thoughts on Augmented reality being implemented on your Can-Am? (Real-time maps, points of interests, GPS, road-side assistance, video-record your trails/touring experience, showing weather conditions, etc)

4.) Do you ride solo or in groups?

Thank you again for reading this. Your insights will be extremely valuable to the research we are conducting. If you can, please also list which kind of Can-Am recreational vehicle you own. (Spyder, Ryker, etc). Thank you again! :th_smiliewavey:

Hi! I’m a grad student doing research on behalf of Bombardier. I need your help!

Greetings Can-Am Enthusiasts!

My name is Jack Tran and I'm a user experience grad student conducting research on the behalf of Bombardier. I really need your help answering some quick questions about the overall Can-Am riding experience! I'm specifically interested in talking to users who own the Spyder RT model, but I appreciate all responses just the same. :smile

Here are 4 general questions I would like to ask:

First off, thanks so much for your time! I'm conducting a research study for Bombardier and I just have a couple of questions. If you can be descriptive, that would be awesome!

2019 outlander 1000r xt vs 850 xtp

So once the rebates hit I am going to be purchasing a 2019 outlander. My question is should I buy a 850 xtp or a 1000r xt that is all that is in the budget. Before everyone jumps the gun saying bigger is better I agree but other things also factor in other than engine size like budget and ride quality. I would love to hear how the 2019 XT rides and drives compared to an older XT. I bought a 2013 800 XT new and the handling was horrible. Wayyy to soft causing terrible body roll. Upgraded them to RC2 shocks before they were ever released (Thanks Fox!) And I now own a 2011 outlander 800 XXC with the kyb piggybacks. I have heard the XT suspension has been redesigned and now has a front sway bar like my XXC. I ride fast (used to race XC before an injury) about 50 % of the time and use it for hunting/ice fishing the other 50%. No mud to speak of so don't even say an xmr as I hate them. I know I will be happy with an 850 xtp but I would love to get a 1000 if they improved the suspension on the XT. What would you all buy if you were in my shoes. Please only respond if YOU have actually tested a 2019.

JD Buck 650 2006 Oil in spark plug hole

The ATV has been spitting & sputtering, and every time I stopped it would backfire. It got to where it would only run steadily on choke. We thought there might be buildup in the gas tank, but we cleaned it out and although it ran well for a week or so, it started doing the same thing again. The noise sounded a lot like it was missing to me, so I pulled the plug wire off the spark plug and it had oil all over it, and there was some oil around the plug. I'm not sure where to go from here.

should I wear gear

hi, I have a 2013 tril blazer 330.
and I currently only own a helmet.
should I invest in some motorcycle boots and body armor?

I tend to slip off my foot pegs , can the motorcycle boots improve traction?
