Trans is still being a pain.

went for a ride it was dry out so most of it soft sugar sand. I rode in high gear for the first part because we were rippin around. When we came to our first stop under the cypress hammocks I couldn’t get the bike out of gear unless I turned it off. It wanted to creep so bad at times it stalled itself out. We continued towards the spring and creek, as soon as I drove off into the water for a little I could shift gears again, still had to the hump to get it too, but it would shift. The next part of the ride was some mud, not much and came back to the creek. The bike would still shift gears and creep from time to time. As soon as drove back off into the water things were fine or if I let the bike sit for a little.

The ride back through the sand the same thing happened as the ride in.. the heat from the cvt is really hot, sometimes feel as if it could burn my hand, if I kept it there. Is heat doing this bs? Or my tranny taking a crap? I know it’s my primary driving the bike forward, but I’m puzzled.

I’m going to add a 5th shim into the secondary and try lightening the weights on the primary. Then going to get rid of the stealth bs and add 2” snorkels through the pod, in hopes it breathes better. I feel like the stealth setup suffocates the flow.

Any thoughts?

XMR1000r 2018 POWER COMMANDER

Hi huys,

I have a CanAM Outlander 1000 XMR 2018. I have installed on it HMF Performance Exhaust. It sounds just great but I dont like the smell of exhaust emission. It seems like it has too much FUEL in pistons and throws it through exhaust. Sometimes I get shoots of non-used fuel. I have NO power commander or fuel controller.

What should I buy now ? What is the difference between power commander and fuel controller? Or they are the same?
ECU reflash is not a solution for me, because in my Country I dont have someone to do this thing.

I was looking for a Power Commander from Dynojet, but I have to spend 350$ and I want a result for that.

2010 outlander 650 max xt rear shocks going bad?

OK, I’m unsure what’s going on, but over the last couple of years we seem to be bottoming out much more often (rear end) It’s steadilyngetting worse.

We usually ride two up, have a rear bag with some gear as well as two 1 gallon gas packs. Our quad has been set up like this since we bought it new in 2010, but has steadily been getting worse the last couple of years.

Neither rear shock shows any oil leaking. Is it possible the springs could simply becoming weak ( I realize that could be a very stupid statement but I am NOT mechanically inclined :smile). We ride all sorts of fire roads\rough/rocky trails.

Thoughts\solutions??

Thank you!!!

Gear position sensors

Hello everyone. I need some help. I believe my gear position sensors might be bad. The display says the machine is in High no matter what gear I am. my real problem is that I can not locate them on any schematic. Is the part called "gear position sensor"? I have removed all three and they look real clean and they still have grease on them. I jiggled them around and it seemed to fix the issue and allowed me to start the wheeler. What do you guys think? I have a '09 800R XT
