2000 Xplorer 250 4×4 new guy questions

I have a 2000 Xplorer 250 4x4. Need to replace the front left wheel strut bearing was wondering if there is a another vehicle that uses the same bearing so i would be able to get it from local auto parts house

Other question the electric start dont work but pull starts easy. But i put a battery in it and now when i put it in either reverse or 4x4 it will die but with either one it will work with the override button but if the battery is disconnected dont have to use override. Thanks for any help in advance

90 TB250 acts like it has an engine brake

Hello, I have a 1990 Trail Boss 250 that is in very nice shape. I think it has been very well maintained from all indications. The problem I am having is that the four wheeler seems to take an inordinate amount of throttle to make it go. Once rolling, the second I take my thumb off of the throttle it slows down like it has engine breaking instead of just coasting. The brakes aren't binding, as it rolls easily in Neutral. I have changed belts to see if that would help. The belt also seems to have correct deflection. The transmission has the correct fluid, and is full. When I pulled the clutch cover and found a green spring so I replaced it with the blue/green that is recommended. The primary clutch seems to work correctly. I have not watched the secondary. The other thing that I am curious about is that the input shaft seems to be tied directly to the output shaft even in Neutral. If I put the ATV in neutral and rev it up the rear disc spins, which in itself may not be too unusual, but if I pull the brake lever it decreases the rpm like it is putting a load on the engine. So as it sits, it looks like I have an issue with either the secondary clutch or the transmission. My gut says transmission, but I hope not. I would appreciate any insight as to wether this is a normal condition or, if not, how to fix it. Thanks in advance, Dave

Just bought 27 inch bearclaw HTRs to replace my mega mayhems

Just bought 27 inch bearclaw HTRs (9 front, 11 rear) to replace my mega mayhems
Will get them switched and sell my megas locally.

Will report how they run when I can get the quad out next spring. Expecting less swamp performance and much better trail riding.

Will mount on stock wheels, they are ok to me and I'm saving the cost of new wheels.

superwinch terra 35sr vs 45sr

Trying to avoid loosing a leg or my head with a snapping steel cable, and the stock winch kind of sucks waterproofing wise, so I'd upgrade to a superwinch terra SR.

Wondering if I should just not bother and go with the 45, or it's going to drain too much battery and I should stick with the 35?

Quad has all plastics removed so it's going to be an easy swap right now, so I'd do it this winter before spring.

recoil kicks back and rips outta my hand WTH

Ok not that I need it now but the other day I pulled the rope to start my 2002 Sportsman 500...holy crap almost broke my fingers...I tried it again after slowly pulling it past where it pulled hard and it started,,,
So whats the trick to decrease the compression or whatever ??
Thx
