SO long Polaris

So my 2008 Polaris Sportsman 4000 HO is official sold. Snow blade and all.

While I will miss it some, moving from my acreage into the city, it made no sense to keep it. No room to store it, and all I really used to for was acreage work and the occasional joy ride. And if I cant just drive it off my property to use, whats the point

Low kms and hrs, mossy oak, put a front windshield and fairing on it and some other bells and whistles.

$4500 out the door with the blade. Paid $5000 for it 8 years ago so didnt lose much money. I had to throw in $1200 last winter because of the AWD dying and of course bought the blade.

I will say I wont miss the extra time and maintenance I spent on it. Just another thing to do.

I learned a lot on the forum though.

2018 Outlander 450 Starting Issues

Hi all,
New to Can Am forum (first post), but wanted to give everyone a heads up. Bought my 450 in October 2018 and ran into starting issues in early November.
Everything was fine when I first ran it, but brought it up to Int'l Falls to hunt. When first starting it to unload, the starter didn't engage, just freely spun. This happened twice, but then the machine started (didn't think much of it). Sat for a few weeks (on trickle charger), then the problem resurfaced. About a mile out on Mille Lacs ice fishing in early December, ran fine to get out to the spot, let it sit from 12-5 and then went to start it to leave, and the starter spun, but didn't engage. Clicked button 10-15 times total before it finally engaged and started the unit. I got pretty nervous about it not starting and draining the battery out on the ice without a backup power source.
Brought it into Minneapolis Motorsports where I bought it, and they told me that they had problems on the 17's, but Can-Am told them they fixed it for the 18's. Come to find out that when it gets cold (below about 32 degrees), the problem has been resurfacing, and they have had a few others come through the shop.
Lucky for me, I am still in the warranty period, so they ended up replacing the spring behind the bendix to a lighter duty one so it doesn't take as much effort to engage the starter on the flywheel.
Picked it up last night, but will hopefully be able to test it this weekend with the colder weather and post back if it worked.
I will also follow up on the invoice if it includes a replacement part number for the new spring that was used.

Minor issue with transmission on 2000 Sportsman 500

I just brought home this 2000 Sportsman 500. As you can see from the picture, it has a little transmission problem. What can possibly cause something like this? Fortunately, it came with a new (used) transmission that I’m about to start swapping out. But it also came with a new case cover like the one you see damaged in the picture. Should I even bother trying to replace the case cover once I have it out, or has what caused those holes completely torn up the insides of the trans. It seems to shift through neutral, reverse, high and low from the shifter, but it’s been sitting for 1.5 years, so I haven’t run it yet due to bad gas, etc. to know if it actually can move. The bright side is, this thing is almost like new otherwise with only 1,000 miles on it. This must have happened fairly early in its life and they just let it sit. The guy I bought if from said the previous owner (original owner) started it for him when he bought it and it cranks over with good compression.

Rear protection question

I am looking to buy this rear battery guard protector for my 2011 outlander xxc but can not find anything about it anywhere, can someone help me find part numbers or the actual name of it. I've tried all kinds of keywords on Google but no luck
