New member, bought first can am.

Hello to all. I purchased my first can am (for my son) it’s a can am ds 70 and I’m here because I’m having issues. I want to learn about these machines more as I’m considering purchasing myself a nice toy as well. Going to post in the ds section for some hopefully great help! Nice to meet everyone.

Two “New to me Polaris “

Hello everyone! My 1st post .
First of all thanks for reading and responding if you do.
I just picked up three used quads.
Two are 09 Sportsman XP’s one 550 with power steering red and the other an 850 with a box on the back and a 3k winch with a front mounted plow . Oh and they both came with nice hand guards and front brush guards over the head lights.
But here’s the best part. The 550 has 620 miles on it and the 850 has 408 miles on them and they’re both spotless. I got them and a 90cc kymco for my daughter with s tilt sled trailer for a price so ridiculous you’d hate me if I told you . I have a Honda year 2K Forman as well. Except to see lots of pictures as soon as I can figure out how to do that!
You’ll see me soon!

2008 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO EFI Thermal Sensor

digging into an issue I'm having. I have replaced the rad and thermostat, my fan also works fine. My bike flashes 'HOT' even though I believe as do others, it's not really overeating.

I'm trying to change the thermal sensor located upper back left corner behind the clutch assembly cover on the block. This sensor activates the 'HOT' warning on the display hud from research I've done.

The issue is, I've been to a Polaris dealer and even they can't provide the part number for that sensor. The mechanic who came out to look at it was surprised there was a 'quick connect' right at the sensor. He went in to look at the schematics on-line, even looking at a year before (2007) and a year after (2009) with no luck. Pretty bad I think.

He then started suggesting maybe someone basterdized it but, I then explained I bought it there NEW in 2008 and I haven't touched it because I'm a mechanical moron. They have done all my servicing to this point.

Their Service Manager tried with no luck as well. Talk about frustrating.

So if anyone has any idea as to the part number, I would appreciate any help as well.

threw some goodies on the 1000 XTp

Just wanted to share some mods I recently completed on my 13 XTp

2" Perfex lift kit
28" STI Outback Max Tires on MSA 14 inch wheels
Yoshimura Slip On (Sounds incredible)
Dobeck EJK Fuel Controller
Dalton Primary Clutch Kit

Got everything from atvtirescanada.com
They are great!

I think I'm going to need fender flares now, any recommendations?

fuel injector not working

My son bought a rebuilt engine to put in our 900 xp porlaris ranger. however after installing it , we figured out the one fuel injector is not working. when we switch the wiring harness the problem switches injectors. when we use a multi tester it appears we are getting the right voltages on both harnesses. we even borrowed a friends ECU and it still didn't work, so I am thinking there must be a problem with the harness. My son said Polaris wants $1000 for the harness, is there a better way?
