Hi All, am new to the forum, and would greatly appreciate your knowledge and guidance for the following.
Am purchasing some country acreage for future retirement home building purposes (10-15 years from now), and am thinking an ATV is my best option for affordable land maintenance tasks. I just cannot justify spending $20-25,000 for a good tractor setup, for mostly just mowing, or paying someone for years to brush mow with their tractor.
Will be using the ATV to tow a (most-likely a DR Power brand) 52" brush mower, tow weed sprayer, trailer for tree maintenance / dirt / rocks cleanup, etc. The property is 25 acres, so much larger than what a riding mower could do.
The ATV simply won't be used barely 5-10% of the time, for getting out in woods, trails, etc.
Am looking at getting a used late-model Sportsman 570, or possibly a 450 HO. What do folks recommend?
(No, I don't think a UTV is the best item for me here, due to costs, and that I also am getting 10 acres of woods, that I'll be sporadically doing the noted 5-10% of maintenance through there) (using the Tow mower, I want to be able to turn around and monitor how it's running, the lines, etc (and there's a cable that runs to the ATV, to electronically adjust the mowing deck height, and a UTV would seat me too far forward))
Am confident that I'm going with a Polaris ATV, but all the Honda fan-boys from YouTube videos I've watched, sure do rag on the Polaris... Wow, seriously, some big-time haters out there!
I caught the 'reliability' Vote thread here on the site, and though there aren't a huge amount of reply votes there, it sure does seem that the Polaris products are good enough for what I need, and should last for years!
Thank you for your assistance in this pursuit, it is truly appreciated!
