Axle not fitting correctly

2003 Sportsman 700. I have ordered 3 different brands of rear axle, including an OEM. All the correct part #. Rear/Left side. Splines stick out about 3/4" beyond where they should. Am I missing something? Any help would be appreciated.

In-Filter Breather

Hi everyone,

Relatively new to ATVs and I perhaps have a stupid question, but I was curious anyway.

The 2008 Sportsman 500 is currently on jack stands, in pieces as we repair a few things with the front end differential. Not related, but we noticed what looked like a filter on the left hand side under the panel. Upon further investigations, I determined it was an in-line breather filter.

What does it do? I notice it goes into the airbox. Is this something I should be replacing on a regular basis? The part is cheap and I figured while we have changed pretty much everything else maintenance wise I would check on this before we begin putting it back together again.

Thanks guys & gals.

Reversed batter terminals with new battery

Hello,
i am new to this forum and I would appreciate any help from any of you!
I have a 2014 Sportsman 400 HO. Last night I went to get my ATV blade on to get ready for some snow. The battery was dead so i jump started it and it ran fine but the battery wouldn't hold a charge so i bought a new battery. I had my son install it but nothing worked. When i inspected it I realized that he hooked the battery up backwards. I hooked the battery up correctly and now it wont start. It turns over fine and the lights and winch works. I checked the fuses and all 4 of the were good. My question is where would someone recommend that i start with replacement parts? Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Lighting

I purchased a 2002 325 Magnum for my wife and noticed a problem with the lights. It had no brake light so I checked the bulb, sure enough, the filament for the brake light was broken. No problem, new bulb, right? Wrong...put a new bulb in now the brake light works, but it also comes on with the head/tail lights. I suspect the bad bulb was put in intentionally. Without pulling everything apart to troubleshoot the harness I just wondered if anyone else has had this happen just to save some time and trouble. Thanks!

Another newbie

Hello all. Been riding for years. Started on a Polaris Magnum 425 and have slowly upgraded. Been searching for the last few months on a new ride and it was between a brute force and the can am. Well we can all guess who won....... Picked up a new 2018 Outlander Dps 850 in orange. So far I am in love with it. Now with that being said. I am after some mods already for it. Mainly clutching and a upgraded belt. I have tried to search but have not found anything im 100% on with this being so new. Picture i have uploaded is the machine itself. Don't have any on my phone yet.

Polaris 400 cooling system

So I am replacing the Head Gasket on my sons 400 Scrambler - Along with the fan sensor (cylinder head) and the radiator sensor (both were new old stock) - After everything is reassembled is there a way to check the fan operation ? Can one of the sensors be jumped to turn the fan on ?

2017 Defender HD8 XT Cab fuel millage?

I was wondering what kind of fuel millage others are getting? I just picked up a great deal on a 17 Defender HD8 XT Cab and went on a 35.7 mile trail ride (Elk Hunting) and used 3.44 gallons that is 10.37 miles to the gallon. Now I did all this in work mode only with a average of 8 miles per hour. My next trip will be in Normal mode to see if any difference. Then third trip in Econ mode to see the difference. I was very happy with the performance and comfort of my Defender on this trip and looking forward to my next trip. I have been a side by Side owner since 2006 (Yamaha Rhino). Back to my question, What kind of fuel millage are other Defender owners getting? I just thought it would be higher.

Installed Rad Relocate

Just finished installing my Can Am rad relocate.

I found it to be a fair bit of work. I took off the plastics, which I probably didn't have to. That was the biggest part of the job. Getting those buggers on an off.

I guess the only other reason I found it a lot of work was because Can Am's instructions I downloaded were useless.

I purchased proper hose clamps, and did not use the one time use clamps that were provided. Just incase I needed to take a hose off (for future mods, or a mistake when installing etc)

I didn't mount the Can Am symbol on top of the rad. I was thinking of designing my own and cutting it out (I have a CNC Router that will do the job) Just not sure what I want on it yet.

This is my youtube video, if anyone is having thoughts of installing one, it may help ..it may not help!

PS Stay tuned for my Can Am plow I purchased on FB Market place :big-grin
