Auxiliary Battery

Does anybody know of a battery mount for the Defender DPS to mount an auxiliary battery, besides the kit from can am that's $250? I just want to run them parallel.

1994 Polaris 400 Sportsman Carb

Instead of rebuilding the carb was thinking of buying a newer one. Is there a newer carb that fits the best for a 1994 Polaris 400 4x4 sportsman? Currently back firing and not starting.

Thanks for any info.

2014 Max Xt 500, what do I need to know?

All,
I recently just purchased a mint condition 2014 Outlander Max Xt 500. The ATV has 180 miles and 51 hours on it. The previous owner was the original owner, purchased for 1 season of riding in 2014 and since then only has used it for plowing his small driveway and very little getting around his property. I could not even find a scratch on the plastic. He had dealer records for the 2 services it has received in that time. Both services included an oil change. He replaced the battery last year. What do I need to know about these bikes? Are there any considerations I should take? I tried looking for recalls and couldn't find any. Should I immediately change all fluids? The guy seemed very legit and nice. Retired army vet. His house/property was well kept so I do believe he likely took equal car of the atv. I will use the ATV for hunting and for getting around my property. I do not do trail riding, except to get around the property. If my other machine (Polaris Sportsman 800) breaks, then this machine would ultimately be used for plowing as well. Thanks!

Stripped Torx oil change socket

Sportsman 800 stripped out the Torx oil change plug. Advise requested as to how to get it out as deer season is rapidly approaching and want to get it done before season starts. Thanks All!

2015 Scrambler 850 – Gears do not engage / rolls in park

2015 Polaris Scrambler 850 XP
29.5 Terminators
1700mi

In 2x4 mode and got into a watery mud hole but the water level did not get anywhere near the stock snorkels. Had it in LOW and when I went to muscle out of the hole I heard a pop and instantly thought it was a CV axle.. Then I shifted to REVERSE, nothing.. Then I shifted to HIGH, nothing.. Tried AWD, nothing..

As I was pulled out, the rear tires were dragging as if it was locked into park.. rolled the bike back and forth and it disengaged and now rolls. It rolls in every gear, including park.

So far I've pulled the PVT housing cover to take a look at the belt and clutches, they seem fine, belt seems to be in good condition. Started it with the cover off and the primary spins however the secondary acts as though its attached to nothing and just spins as if its in neutral. I have a service manual and I'm leaning towards something is nuked inside the transmission.

I'm not afraid to pull it myself and pop the case to fix it. I'm here to ask of any suggestions from anyone here that has opened a Polaris transmission before as I've never had to do it. Can 3 bond 1215 be used as an alternative to the Polaris Grey Crankcase sealant?

Or, if there is anything else I should be taking a look at prior to digging into the transmission, please let me know!

Tire size on stock beadlocks xxc

Have a 2014 800 renegade xxc. I need a new set of tires and found a deal on the grim reaper tires for $380 using the stock set up of 25x8x12 and 25x10x12.

Should I consider going to a larger size? Mostly trail riding with some mud holes and snow.

2010 850XP – Add Aftermarket Muffler or Not?

Just got a great deal on a 2010 850 XP with low miles.

Have been cleaning, servicing and etc for the last couple weeks.

One problem I have is the muffler. It is rusty and I have debated on taking off, sanding, priming and painting, all with high temp stuff of course.

The other option is to get a new OEM muffler.......around $300 after tax.

Or, get an aftermarket one like HMF or Big Gun or ??? for $250 with the benefits of stainless steel, improved flow, etc.

The problem sounds like it's just not that easy to slip one on and not mess with the fuel system tuning.

Does anyone have any experience with this?
