I recently discovered that I had a bad voltage regulator on my 2001 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO. I replaced the voltage regulator and now I am getting a stable 14.2 voltage reading for my battery. The problem is I'm still not getting any headlight, tail light, or Speedo activity. I hook some charger cables up to the positive and negative terminal on the light itself and the light turns on so I know the bulb is good. Could the bad voltage regulator have messed up something Upstream? Is there another fuse that I missing?
1996 Sportsman 500 – Have fuel/spark, wont start
1996 Sportsman 500.
I know I have spark and fuel. I have fuel in the lines both before and after the on/off valve. I can put my hand over the throttle body intake and I get a lot of suction and have fuel on my hand.
The airbox lid is cracked and the lid is missing 4 of the 6 screws (the studs are completely gone). If I remember right, the fuel system works on vacuum and if there is a crack in the airbox, that would cause a leak, correct?
If I am getting spark and fuel, what else could be the problem?

Switch inside throttle housing/throttle lever
My throttle lever broke. I installed an aftermarket unit. I noticed that when i tighten the screw that secures the throttle lever it causes the switch to stick in the open position.
I reinstalled the OEM throttle lever. I noticed the screw bottoms out tightly and the switch still operates as it should. Not so with this billet unit.
Anyone know what this switch is for, how it works, and if it matters thst mine is stck open?
I emailed Rick Cecco last week asking to buy a throttle lever. He said he quit selling them. Couldnt compete with the chinese junk. Id rather pay more for his quality parts.
I ended up buying 2 from amazon. One for a bit over $40, one for a bit over $20. The machining on them appear identical. The cheap unit, from Rudyness66, is bare aluminum and fits ok. The more expensive unit, from Bevel Engineering, wouldnt fit without some VERY minor filing. Almost like the coating makes the difference between go/no-go.

Picking Up My 2018 Sportsman 850 SP Camo Tomorrow (10/5/18)
And I can't freaking wait. I had a 2011 Grizzly 700 get stolen in 2014 when I was out of town for the weekend (left the ATV at my parents house) and they forgot to put it up and I never saw it again. Happened in a good neighborhood too. SO since then I haven't had an ATV (I'm 29 years old) and have had at least 1 atv available at all times since I was basically born but since starting a new job I've been very busy the last couple years and trying to save up so tomorrow is the day and it's been a long time coming.
The extra's that I'm getting with it include:
- Polaris Ultimate Front Bumper (brush guard)
- 3500lb Polaris Winch - I've only ever had Warn winches so I'm curious what you all think of the Polaris ones. Hopefully it's solid.
- Polaris wireless winch remote
- STI 27' Outback Max tires
- STI HD5 Alloy Wheels

2014 xp 850
This awesome machine of mine is nearing 11,000 hard miles. It was originally in service to ensure it would survive another 10,000 miles - and then prepped for sale.
But, the wife had other plans. I bought her a new Brute Force 750i, but she decided she liked the Polaris's power & suspension & power steering better, so now that 850 is getting new life via my wife.
On deck for the 850 is as follows:
-Rebuilt rear drive line
-EPI high altitude performance clutch kit
-Maxxis VIPR tires

Carb Vent Lines
I have a 2001 trailblazer 250. Does anyone have any pictures on where the vent lines on the carb go??? I know two of them come to a T and the third vents off, but i just dont know which ones???
1990 polaris trail boss 4×2
My 2 stroke Polaris trail boss(the machine is new to me) won't start without using some starting fluid down the intake. Knowing 2 strokes that's probably not the greatest for it. I don't see a choke anywhere or a priming bulb. Any thought on why this would be? The guy I got it from claims the carb had been gone through recently.
1999 Polaris Sportsman 500 – LED Upgrade
Hi, my 1999 Sportsman 500 has dummy sockets where the low beam lights go for the headlights. Pricing the bulbs, it seems to make sense to just switch the pair of headlights out with LEDs. I found some decent ones rated for 36W. Any issues with that? I think the stock bulbs only draw 30w of power. Also, is there an aftermarket light harness adapter available for the stock socket connectors? I'd prefer not to cut them.
Thanks in advance!
