Have a 2015 can am renegade 500 that recently started overheating and boiling over coolant. I also noticed the fan wasn’t kicking on so I figured that was the issue. So I went threw the checklist (check relays, fuses, temperature sensor etc.)
when I tested the temp sensor I unplugged it while it was running and the fan didn’t kick on.
So I moved on to check the fan itself. To see if the fan worked I unplugged the fan wire and tested the fan to see if that even worked with some test wire. And it did.
So I plugged the fan back in and started it up again with the temp sensor still out and all of a sudden the fan kicked on like normal.
Could the temp sensor be stuck somehow or bad connection? I didn’t jiggle any wires or really check any connections. I’m confused. Can someone explain this to me? And tell me if I should get a new temp sensor before next ride? Thanks in advance guys!
