ETX throttle cutting out

Hello internet,

I have a 2015 polaris sportsman etx and the throttle has been cutting out. It feels like you are taking your finger off the throttle and then it kicks back up. It did that a few time and then it happened more frequently and then it kept shutting the engine off. Does anyone know what this could be. I thought it was my tuner causing issues, I have an hmf exhaust and tuner and the tuner doesn't appear to be working. Would that cause this kind of issue?

Any help you can give is greatly appreciated
Thank you

HI Temp HD8

I have a clean radiator, have replaced my thermostat assembly, can feel the fan pulling air past my fingers over the grill, I have replaced the coolant with Nulon, followed bleeding procedure in the owners manual. I have also checked that the water pump impellor is not damaged and that it turns when the engine runs.

The coolant tank was replaced under warranty, at 8 months age, because it became brittle and broke. My new tank now 7 month old has also changed so the coolant level is no longer visible through the tank. I believe my Defender has been heating since new but is gradually getting worse, now the hi temp warning is coming on after about 1 hour running, usually when running at idle while stopped to open gates after a period 50 to 70 kph running.

Question to anybody who has rebuilt one of these engines - Is there anywhere in the engine where a seal can swell cutting of coolant flow within the engine?

Excessive oil in the clean drain tube?

I have 2018 Outlander xmr 850 and I keep getting engine oil coming out of my clean drain tube. Is this normal? I blew a fuel pump fuse on one ride then the next ride the fuel pump relay flickered on me and the engine died. Pulled the relay, it clicked, put it back in and it fired right up. About 2km after that the check engine light came because it was getting hot, the fan relay flickered the same way so the fan didn't come on. Same thing, pull relay, it clicked, put it back in and the fan kicked back on. I haven't had an electrical issue since but every since that day I have been getting small amounts of oil in the clean drain tube. Just wondering if the 2 issues may be related?

Engine Rebuild – Crank Bearing Installation?

2009 Outlander 800r - approx 1750 miles - mostly trail riding/rock crawling
Short story: Heard a ticking (sounded like a valve tick) and found several links broken on one of my timing chains. It ate up the guides, shavings clogged the oil screen, heard the dreaded "skreeeek" when I got it back to the truck and shut it off. I've never rebuilt this type of engine but I bought a manual and decided to tackle it. Parts have been ordered (waiting) but I'm a little fuzzy on pressing the crank bearings back in. Is there any type of tab or something to guide it back in properly to make sure the oil hole lines up properly? If I miss, am I screwed? Anybody got any hints/tips/video on doing this correctly?

Shout out from northern Canada

Owned Grizzlies for the last 10 years but decided to go with a 2018 Outlander xmr 850 this time around. Owned it for a few months now and it's already doing some funny things. Glad to be here reading other peoples stories to educate myself a bit more on the can am.

2012 650 Max XT 4×4 issue

Hello all,
My 2012 650 max xt was stuck in 4wd for awhile and when I got time to look at it, you could hear the actuator moving but not doing anything. I removed the actuator and it seemed like the pin that it goes on was stuck, I just rocked it back and forth a bit and it unlocked. I put it all back together and now it seems fine, but I don't know 1. Why it did it in the first place and , 2 Will it do it again? I don't beat on it just ride it mostly rocky stuff very little mud and it has 800 miles on it, and has otherwise been awesome. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
